Tune of the Week: We Both Know - Colbie Caillat Feat. Gavin DeGraw

Our latest Tune of the Week is performed by two of our favorite singer songwriters, Gavin DeGraw and Colbie Caillat.

The duo have been touring together during this year and their chemistry has resulted in writing a song called We Both Know which they have provided  as the soundtrack to the upcoming film Safe Haven, which opens on February 2013 in the US.

Both artists are not new when performing for soundtracks as Caillat had previosly wrote a song for 2010's Letters to Juliet, while DeGraw provided music for 2006´s Tristan & Isolda as well as the CW´s One Tree Hill.

Caillat recently described the track to Rolling Stone:

"It's about a relationship and having to take space from each other, but learning about yourself and the relationship. It's a beautiful ballad."

Both artists also duet on Caillat´s recent Christmas album and feel very comfortable working with each other.

"We were touring together, so we were already starting to write songs together," Caillat says.

"The concept is just old-fashioned fun. No story line, it's not me singing to a girl, you get a good sense of what you're going to get live.

It's very VHS-y. I love that man, it takes me back to my childhood, when the tracking is off and the color is off, there's a beauty in that. You'd have to stand by the TV with, like, aluminum foil all over you."

"Hitchcock" Official Trailer

The trailer for Hitchcock starring Anthony Hopkins is here and it looks really good!

Not only Hopkins seem to be giving one of the strongest performances of his life but Helen Mirren seems to be on the run for some award nominations this year. Plus the movie looks fun!

Director Sacha Gervasi spoke to EW about the challenges he faced while making the movie:

“Someone who portrays zero emotion. We didn’t really know emotionally that much about Hitchcock, and suddenly you have this whole world that opens up when Anthony Hopkins plays the role.

It’s extraordinary. And he really enjoyed tiptoeing up to people who had just arrived on the set and going, ‘Good evening.’ Making people jump. I think he really found the role quite delicious.”

The film which also stars Scarlett Johansson, James D´arcy and Jessica Biel will open on November 23rd.

First Listen: Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has been busy in the studio recording his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, the follow-up to his successfull debut album Doo-Woops & Hooligans which spawned two number one hit singles.

The first single taken from this new release is Locked Out Of Heaven, a track produced by Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse) which is reminiscent of the signature sound of The Police.

Just recently Mars spoke to Billboard magazine about the new album:

"This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want. This album represents my freedom. I've had big record label presidents look me in the face and say, 'Your music sucks, you don't know who you are, your music is all over the place, and we don't know how to market this stuff. Pick a lane and come back to us.

That was disgusting to me, because I'm not trying to be a circus act. I listen to a lot of music and I want to have the freedom and luxury to walk into a studio and say, 'Today I want to do a hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock record.'""

Unorthodox Jukebox is due Dec. 11 on Atlantic Records.
