"The Great Gatsby" Trailer

The new adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald´s novel, The Great Gatsby, has unveiled its first trailer.

The film shot in Australia and directed by Baz Luhrmann looks visually attractive with a stellar cast that includes none other than Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

This is the first time DiCaprio and Luhrmann reunite together on a project since their last collaboration 17 years ago on Romeo + Juliet.

The Great Gatsby is expected to be released on December 26 in 3D and 2D.

 Watch the trailer below!

Ben Affleck In Talks To Star In Luhrmann´s 'Great Gatsby'

Baz Luhrmann´s upcoming adaptation of  The Great Gatsby is gearing up to becoming an all-star film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Ben Affleck is in talks to star as Tom Buchanan in the film. If his scheduling is resolved, his name will be added to the already confirmed cast which includes Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.

The only problem is that Affleck is also set to star in the political thriller, Argo, which will begin production just a month earlier than Gatsby.

Apparently, the actor is in talks to reach an agreement so that the scheduling conflict can be worked out.

Baz Luhrman making The Great Gatsby in 3D?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Baz Luhrman (Moulin Rouge, Australia) is considering the idea of making a 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby with a cast of stars including Leonardo Dicaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. Nothing is set in stone yet, but the director has apparently already workshopped with the format.

Recently, the director visited Las Vegas alongside Michael Mann and Oliver Stone for a panel discussion on the advantages of Blu-ray. Stone himself has been outspoken about the 3D format stating that you “shouldn´t shoot a 3D movie unless you can afford it, otherwise you are putting yourself under enormous pressure.”

The idea of having a revolutionary director like Luhrman playing with 3D couldn´t be more attractive but, is this movie the appropiate project to do so? Sound off in the comments!

Rumour: Dicaprio, Maguire and Seyfriend to star in "The Great Gatsby"

According to reports, the new film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved classic, "The Great Gatsby" is on the works and, if the rumours are true, this could turn up to be a terrific project. Apparently,  Leonardo DiCaprio is up for the role of Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire for Nick Carraway, and Amanda Seyfried for Daisy Buchanan. A few years back, director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) had acquired the rights to the novel, but there is no word yet if he will be sitting on the director's chair and helming the movie.

I hope that the rumours are true cause this would be a star-studded cast. After reading the novel, I could definitely see those three actors playing the roles perfectly. Seyfried has the perfect combination of beauty and apparent vulnerability that the character of Daisy needs, while Maguire and Dicaprio would be perfect fits for the roles of envious Nick and pretentious Gatsby. I also look forward to seeing Luhrmann's vision of the story (if he's still attached to the film) as his unique style will surely provide a touch of modernity to it.
