First Listen: Only You - Cee Lo Green feat. Lauriana Mae

Cee Lo Green has premiered a brand new track titled "Only You", featuring newcomer Lauriana Mae and it is really good!

The song has a very addictive chorus and some cool fusion of classic and modern RnB rhythms.

“It’s about two people on different paths, hoping for the best, hoping that those paths lead to each other,” Cee Lo says. “It’s like love lost or the acknowledgment of a love lost, but it’s still optimistic.”

It is still unknown when is Green planning release a new studio album, but this new track has surely began some buzz.

Best Grammy Awards Performances

Once again, the 2011 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center left us with some of the best performances of todays most successful artists in the music industry. Radio Pop Action! has collected some of the most memorable ones in this post:

Among the best performances this year, the most theatrical one goes to Lady Gaga´s Born This Way with the singer being reborn out of a giant alien-like egg.

Bruno Mars proved to us once again that he is capable of doing absolutely anything musically by transforming his number one hit song, Grenade, into a 50´s pop tune or playing drums for fellow artist Janelle Monae.

Cee Lo Green stole the show with his performance of Forget You which featured the muppets as background singers and a duet with none other than Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rapper Eminem and Rihanna teamed up once again to perform their smash hit Love The Way You Lie Part 2, joined by Dr Dre on stage and Maroon 5´s Adam Levine on the keys.

Perhaps the most emotional moment of the awards show was Aretha Franklin´s all star tribute featuring Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams & Martina Mcbride.

Amy Winehouse Records Duet With Cee Lo Green

Amy Winehouse has reportedly recorded a duet with Cee Lo Green, according to reports by the Daily Star. They both met while holidaying in St Lucia and laid down the track. Sources state that "her voice is as good as ever. She might look frail when you see her but don't be deceived, the voice is still there."

Apparently the pair had amazing chemistry while working together: "Amy has a house in St Lucia and decided to fly out. She and Cee Lo just clicked and he said he wouldn't leave the island until the track was done."

No word yet on when Winehouse will release this new music but work on her new album seems to be completed: "Amy's album is entirely finished, so it's just a case of the record company deciding when to release it."

In my opinion, I couldn´t think of a better fit for a duet with Winehouse than Cee Lo Green. I´m sure they will create magic together.

More music in Gwyneth Paltrow's future

After her recently successful musical ventures on her latest movie Country Strong and her guest spot on Glee, actress Gwyneth Paltrow has hinted her desire to pursue more musical projects in the future.

"I think there definitely will be singing in my future," she said. "I know that I won't stop singing and playing guitar."

She explained: "It may just be to my kids in the house. I may make a record. I may do a musical. I'm not sure, but I'm just very grateful I'm in a place now where I've been given an opportunity to discover this whole new side to myself."

And it seems we won't have to wait too long to listen to her voice again, as singer Cee Lo Green has recently confirmed rumours of a collaboration between the two. The pair have recently re-recorded a new version of Cee Lo's hit  F**ck You at MSR studios in New York over the weekend and  finalised work on the track on Monday.

Paltrow will also return to Glee for the Super Bowl episode after her appearance was a big hit with fans and in the ratings last year.

Are you looking forward to Gwyneth's music?

Album Review: Cee Lo Green - The Lady Killer

A few years back, Cee Lo Green invaded clubs, radio stations and filled the cars of many thanks to his infectious collaboration in Gnarls Barkley's hit "Crazy". That was back in 2006, and since then it seemed as if the charts had eluded him. However, Green was not done with music success just yet, he's been working hard on a solo album that would return him to mainstream radio everywhere and so, 4 years later, we are found with his new record, "The Lady Killer", a collection of soulful melodic songs.

In this album, Green seems to have focused on what he does best, singing catchy tunes with an old school-ish feel that matches perfectly with his style and playfulness. The intro sets the mood for the rest of the album with a theme that could perfectly serve as the score to any old TV show from the 70's. The atmosphere quickly changes into a more contemporary sound mixed with echoes from the 80´s ("Bright Lights Bigger City" contains a bassline heavily influenced by Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean").

The record carefully tries to balance the old with the new, with tunes containing classic Motown elements ("It's Ok", "Cry Baby", "Wildflower" or the lead single "F*** You" to name a few) with a more polished sound as far as production goes, making it trendy but timeless all at once. However, the album does have its flaws and certain songs such as "Bodies" or "Please (Feat. Selah Sue)"  come dangerously close to filler status, interrupting the continuous flow of this highly comforting musical experience. This is quickly forgotten when we come across remarkable tracks like the appropiately titled "Old Fashioned", where Cee Lo Green's emotional vocals will give you chills (If they don't...check your pulse!) or the radio friendly "It's Ok" which definitely has single potential.

The best thing about the record is that Green does not attempt to be original or highly innovative, he just presents a collection of timeless songs that talk about love and heartbreak that could easily speak to a different number of generations, old and new. You won't get the slightest glimpse of autotune here, just raw talent and an album that could have easily been recorded decades ago, only with that new spin that contemporary music can add to the mix production wise. This is, hands down, one of the best records of the year that will take you on a journey to a time where music really mattered and spoke for itself.

Listen to one of my favourite tracks from the album, "It's Ok", below!

Tune of the week: F**k you - Cee Lo Green

This song is just so incredible that it really feels as if we had time travelled to the years of the Motown era. The track, written by Bruno Mars, is rapidly making its way to the top of the charts in spite of its controversial lyrics. In order for the song to be radio friendly, the record label decided to release a new version called "Forget You" .

The Gnarls Barkley frontman wasn't too happy about the change but understood that it was needed in order to reach more audiences. "Well, [the song] was doing really well but not on the radio. You want all the statistics to be in your favour. I wanted a version that adolescents and maybe older people could listen to. He explains: But for adults, there's the original version for you."

Click above to watch the video for the song (if you still haven't heard this incredible tune) and let me know what you think in the comments below! Is "F**ck you" the ultimate break-up song?
