Best Grammy Awards Performances

 Once again, the 2011 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center left us with some of the best performances of todays most successful artists in the music industry. Radio Pop Action! has collected some of the most memorable ones in this post:

 Among the best performances this year, the most theatrical one goes to Lady Gaga´s Born This Way with the singer being reborn out of a giant alien-like egg.

 Bruno Mars proved to us once again that he is capable of doing absolutely anything musically by transforming his number one hit song, Grenade, into a 50´s pop tune or playing drums for fellow artist Janelle Monae.

 

 Cee Lo Green stole the show with his performance of Forget You which featured the muppets as background singers and a duet with none other than Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow.

 Rapper Eminem and Rihanna teamed up once again to perform their smash hit Love The Way You Lie Part 2, joined by Dr Dre on stage and Maroon 5´s Adam Levine on the keys.

 Perhaps the most emotional moment of the awards show was Aretha Franklin´s all star tribute featuring Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams & Martina Mcbride.

Eminem and Bruno Mars lead Grammy Awards nominations

 The 2011 Grammy Awards are sure going to be exciting! The nominations have been announced and Eminem leads them with ten nods, including 'Song Of The Year' and 'Record Of The Year' for Love The Way You Lie, as well as 'Best Rap Album' and overall 'Best Album' for Recovery.

 Newcomer Bruno Mars received the second-highest number of nominations, with seven nods. This came unexpectedly as the release date of his debut album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans," fell outside of the Grammy eligibility period by one week. However, Mars has proven once again that his talent knows no boundaries, and has been nominated mainly for his collaborations with other artists such as B.O.B's Nothing On You, (nominated for record of the year) and Cee Lo Green's F***k You (nominated for both record and song of the year) which Mars wrote himself.

 Other nominees include Lady Gaga (The Fame Monster, Album of the year), Jay Z (Empire State of Mind, Record of the year), and Lady Antebellum (Need You Now, Album of the year) with six nods each.

 Katy Perry who is also on the run for Album of the year with Teenage Dream expressed her happiness for her nomination: "It's like no other award show, because I feel like you're being recognized by your peers... When they nominate you, it's kind of like a win."

First Listen: Rihanna feat. Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (Part II)

  Not so long ago, it was confirmed that Rihanna had recorded a sequel for her hit with Eminem, "Love The Way You Lie", for her forthcoming 5th studio album "Loud". The singer declared recently to MTV that she had doubts at first and thought she could not top the original version: "When I first heard the idea about doing a part two, I was just completely against it," she explains. "I just felt like you couldn't beat the original. There's no way you can outdo that, so why compete with it?"

  They tried different versions until they found what they were looking for and Rihanna fell in love with the song all over again. "We heard a broken-down version that was stripped down, just piano ... that's going to be a bonus on iTunes," she said. "I fell in love with it. We recorded it, then we did another version to the stripped-down version with drums, then we did another version with drums and Eminem. And then that was the one that just felt really good."

  Fortunately for us, she was convinced! I've always thought that this song could have so much potential than the original version with Eminem (which was great too) because it contained a very strong message and an infectious chorus. It was only natural for the song to grow into a more melodic version with more vocals and less rap . And now, here it is for you to hear.
