First Listen: Moonshine - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars is ready to give us more amazing jams to listen to from his upcoming album Unorthodox Jukebox.

Today we bring you what he has confirmed as his next single, Moonshine.

"Ive been jammin to this song for a while now. I hope yall can groove wit me and slide wit me but most important BOK wit me #Moonshine," Mars tweeted.

Recently, Mars explained to Rolling Stone magazine how the track was conceived:

"We all went out one night, and they had actual moonshine on the menu. We drank it all night, then headed to the studio - Jeff got on keyboards, Mark starts playing electronic drums that sound like '80s Prince and I started screaming, 'Moonshine, take us to the stars!'"

Produced by Jeff Bhasker and Nicky Romero, the song sounds amazing, clearly inspired by the 80´s and it has a Michael Jackson feel to it.

First Watch: Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has premiered the music video for his brand new single Locked Out of Heaven taken from his forthcoming album Unorthodox Jukebox.

Directed by Cameron Duddy (who was also behind the camera on "The Lazy Song") the video is simple and stripped, featuring some party scenes and filled with some old school VHS visual effects.

Mars explained the concept:

"The concept is just old-fashioned fun. No story line, it's not me singing to a girl, you get a good sense of what you're going to get live.

It's very VHS-y. I love that man, it takes me back to my childhood, when the tracking is off and the color is off, there's a beauty in that. You'd have to stand by the TV with, like, aluminum foil all over you."

First Listen: Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has been busy in the studio recording his sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, the follow-up to his successfull debut album Doo-Woops & Hooligans which spawned two number one hit singles.

The first single taken from this new release is Locked Out Of Heaven, a track produced by Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse) which is reminiscent of the signature sound of The Police.

Just recently Mars spoke to Billboard magazine about the new album:

"This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want. This album represents my freedom. I've had big record label presidents look me in the face and say, 'Your music sucks, you don't know who you are, your music is all over the place, and we don't know how to market this stuff. Pick a lane and come back to us.

That was disgusting to me, because I'm not trying to be a circus act. I listen to a lot of music and I want to have the freedom and luxury to walk into a studio and say, 'Today I want to do a hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock record.'""

Unorthodox Jukebox is due Dec. 11 on Atlantic Records.

Bruno Mars Covers Billboard Magazine

Bruno Mars graces the cover of issue number 50 of Billboard Magazine.

The artist born as Peter Gene Hernandez in Honolulu, spoke about his career and amazing success.

"It's a rare thing that happens, especially in this day, where it's real hard to sell albums. I'm traveling to places that I've never even heard of and there are all these people singing the songs back -- and English is not even their first language. It's like, what the hell happened?"

According to Mars, it wasn´t always this easy before Elektra Recordsl got interested in his music.

"There was a lot of rejection, a lot of other labels saying, 'You don't know who the hell you are. You're doing all this reggae, R&B, rock stuff. How the hell do we market that? Are you pop? Are you urban?' Elektra gave me a shot and trusted my vision."

Bruno also spoke about his projects for the future and what artist he would love to work with. When asked about his genre-crossing versatility he responded:

"I'm just a mixed-up dude. I want to work with the Kanyes, the Jay-Zs... a Rihanna, a Gaga, Kings of Leon, Mumford & Sons. I want to do all those things. As proud as I am of "Doo-Wops," I feel like, 'Oh, man. People haven't seen nothing. They don't even know what I'm about to do,' and that's what I can't wait to show the world."
