First Look at "Scream" MTV Series new mask

When MTV announced a new "Scream" TV Series, most fans were dissapointed fot two reasons. The first one is that it was set to be a departure from the movies with none of the original characters returning. But most of all what had fans really irritated was the fact that the iconic Ghostface mask wasn´t going to be featured in the new series.

After months of speculation, EW uncovered what has been a secret for the audience, the new killer´s mask which you can see above!

Executive producer Jill Blotevogel (Harper’s Island) said about it: “It evokes some of the Jason hockey mask and the white Michael Myers mask, but it’s still first and foremost evocative of the "Scream" mask. It’s sort of a reinvention while also paying homage.”

Most importantly, original director Wes Craven, who is also a producer on the series seems to like the result as well: “The new mask is cool and scary and takes the series into a new direction.  It also ties into the story, which I won’t give away.”

MTV Develops "Scream" TV Series

If you enjoyed the Scream movie franchise, then you might be interested (or horrified) by the following piece of news.

According to TVLine, MTV is developing a TV series based on the popular movies written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven.

Former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are helming the project and looking for a writer to pen the pilot as we speak.

No word yet on the possibility of Craven and Williamson being involved in this project although it is highly improbable.

We personally love the Scream films but we´re not sure if the formula could work on a TV show.

New "Teen Wolf" Promo

Check out the new trailer for MTV´s new show, Teen Wolf, a reboot of the classic Michael J. Fox film from the 80´s.

Exec producer Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds) described the show to EW as edgier and similar in style to other cult hit shows of the past:

“When I first talked to MTV about it, I said what if we do it kind of like The Lost Boys with kind of the pace and fun of Buffy. We’ve had comparisons to Vampire Diaires. That’s a very brooding melodrama. This exists far closer to Buffy.”

By the looks of the promos that have aired, the show looks very promising and better than what we had personally expected.

MTV's "Teen Wolf" remake teaser trailer

MTV has premiered the teaser promo for its upcoming new TV series based on the 80's movie Teen Wolf which starred Michael J. Fox. The show still doesn't have a premiere date but it has been confirmed that the first season will consist of 12 episodes.

Talk about a makeover! It doesn't look bad, but it really has almost nothing to do with the film it was based on except for the werewolf theme and the main character's name. Check it out for yourselves on the video above! Thoughts?
