Heather Morris won't be the new Buffy

 After rumours started swirling around that Glee star Heather Morris would be playing the lead role on the upcoming big screen reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Warner Bros. has been quick to dismiss them.

"We're not even thinking about casting yet, the script isn't even written!" screenwriter Whit Anderson told The Hollywood Reporter.

 Morris has recently become popular after becoming a series regular on Fox hit show, Glee.

 Early this year, it was reported that a brand new adaptation of the character without series creator Joss Whedon's was in development. Since then, fans everywhere and even stars of the original TV show such as Eliza Dushku (who played fan-favourite Faith in both 'Buffy' and its spin-off, 'Angel') have reacted against a Whedon-less remake:

“I go to Joss’s parties. I’ll just leave it at that,” Dushku told MTV News. Not only that but she also took her Twitter to express her opinion on the project: "Joss made the "Buffster" & w/out him... I just don't trust the girl. Or the world."

 Alyson Hannigan (who played Willow) also stated her disgust towards the new movie and expressed her thoughts to Cinemablend:  "That's a very big mistake in my opinion. I mean if Joss isn't involved, it's only the title." When asked about her involvement she said: "Not without Joss. Joss is the only reason that we would go back. I mean, it's just ridiculous to think of that TV show without Joss. That's just silly to me… And all the fans know that, too, so I don't know what they're thinking."

 There are still no official cast announcements from Warner Bros regarding the new Buffy movie.

 According to fans, there is no Buffy without Sarah Michelle Gellar but, besides her, is there any particular actress you would like to see inherit the stake? Or is Gellar's portrayal of the character irreplaceable? Sound off in the comments!

First Look: Eliza Dushku in "The Big Bang Theory"!

  Yes, it has become a reality! This coming November 4th, the former star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Dollhouse" will guest star on the CBS comedy as a federal agent who interviews the gang  so that Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) can be allowed to work on a new project for the Defense Department. This episode is surely something to look forward to! Are you excited to see Eliza on your TV sets again?

Eliza Dushku turned down a Buffy spinoff!

  Back in the day, right before "Buffy the vampire slayer" ended its seven year run, there were rumours floating around stating that actress Eliza Dushku was offered to continue to play her character, Faith, in a new series. However, that project never took off and the Buffyverse never came back.

  Seven years later, Dushku has confirmed that old rumour to SFX, stating she "met with Joss and [writer] Tim Minear and spoke about the potential for a Faith spinoff. But Buffy had... gone on [for] seven years and Joss [said] he couldn't play the kind of day-to-day role he had on [that show]."

  She admits that Whedon's decision influenced on her final say on not pursuing the new series. "It wasn't that I felt... it wasn't right [without Joss] but it was a contributing factor," she states. "On top of it, I had just played this character for almost five years [and] it felt like time to explore a different role."

 
  By how things turned out, it might seem as if she made the wrong choice but Dushku does not look back. She adds: "I ended up making a decision that... I don't regret, [although] in hindsight maybe the talks could have continued a bit longer."

 
  I really think it is a shame that they did not get to produce the show and give it a try. Faith was a very dark and interesting character, and would have made a great show. However I can see how Whedon's lack of involvement could have influenced on her decision. They still should do a Buffy movie though! What do you think? Did Eliza made the right choice?
