Just in time to get started on your Christmas spirit, our tune of the week is this special rendition of the Holiday classic tune, Let It Snow, sung by none other than Kylie Minogue.

Kylie will perform “Let It Snow” at the NYC Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Rockefeller Center tomorrow, Tuesday, December 30th, between 7pm and 9pm. This will be broadcast live on NBC. The track will be available for download on iTunes on December 7th.

Shannen Doherty joins new online series

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Shannen Doherty (Beverly Hills 90210) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) are the latest TV stars to sign up for a new Lifetime online series called Suite 7, in which Doherty will not only star but also direct an episode. The show would follow a new couple each week who will check into the fictional 'Suite 7' to discuss their personal issues. The web series will consist of a seven-episode first season.

Doherty and Ventimiglia are the latest of a number of popular faces that will check in Suite 7, including Damages star Craig Bierko and a former co-star of Doherty's in 90210, Brian Austin Green.

Wilson Cleveland (The Temp Life) who also collaborated on the series was thrilled with the 90210 reunion: “Shannen [Doherty] directed the episode I wrote and suggested Brian Austin Green. The idea of bringing those two together on a project for the first time since 90210 was a total fan-gasm for me. I was a bit of a 90210 fan, and they had a blast working together again. Brian is so ridiculously funny in this and Shannen is a truly brilliant director.”

The show will debut on December 1 and viewers will be able to watch the show on popular streaming websites like MyLifetime.com and Hulu.

This project certainly sounds interesting! Other big names such as Joss Whedon have already tried the online thing (Dr. Horrible) with great success so who knows if this will become the new trend in modern day entertainment.

Would you be checking in Suite 7 when it premieres? Are you looking forward to more online series in the future? Sound off in the comments!

The Walking Dead graces the cover of EW

The AMC hit series, The Walking Dead, becomes more and more successful with every passing every week and now it graces the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly which calls it "The Best New Show on TV".

Actor Andrew Lincoln talks about how he landed the role: “[After auditioning] I got an e-mail outlining the project … It said The Walking Dead. Terrific title … and then it said ‘Zombie survival horror.’ I think I actually did a literal double take. I was like, ‘Really?!’ I was a bit reticent. It was only the next day, when they sent me this top secret script, that it really dawned on me what the show had a chance to do, and I got very excited."

Are you guys digging this new show? Let me know in the comments!

Is Anne Hathaway the new Lois Lane?

According to What's Playing, Anne Hathaway is being considered for the precious role of Superman's romantic interest, Lois Lane. The actress has recently claimed to the LA Times that she wanted to take a break from romantic comedies, a genre where she has been very successful in the past, and try something new such as science-fiction.

If the rumours are true, Zack Snyder's new Superman film may be the perfect career move for Hathaway. Meanwhile, there is no word yet on who will play the man of steel but Snyder has made it clear that he wants to cast an unknown to play the superhero.

This project is becoming more and more appealing by the minute. Hathaway is funny, gorgeous and talented, I could definitely see her playing Lois Lane on the big screen.

What do you think? Would you be happy with that choice, or would you rather pick someone else?

Wynona Ryder: "Angelina Jolie kept her distance"

Its been a long time since Wynona Ryder and Angelina Jolie shared screen time in their 1999 movie, Girl, Interrupted. Ryder, who also produced the film, has admitted to Total Film that she felt some dissapointment during the filming of the movie because Jolie "kept her distance".

"I remember thinking, 'Oh we're going to turn out to be great friends' she admitted. "But I think she needed to be able to look at me just as the character Susanna, not as Winona, so in a very respectful way she just kind of kept her distance. I saw her at one of the awards shows but I haven't really seen her since."

Wynona also explained that she felt "boring" alongside Angelina (who won an Oscar for her performance in the film) and how happy she is for the success she has achieved since their experience together. "I remember in the press junket for Girl, Interrupted she would just be so open about her problems and then I would come in and everyone would think I was so boring. So it's really great to see she's found her calling in her personal life."

It is always pleasant to see one fellow actor admiring another, specially from an honest perspective. Jolie must have had so much presence even back then (when Wynona was the star and she was just the supporting actress) to make Ryder feel she was boring compared to her. Thoughts?

Watch this: Darren Criss covers Train on Glee

Just recently Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, made one of the best creative decisions of his career by casting Darren Criss as a young gay character in the Fox series. The reaction was so positive that, after his first episode, he was promoted to series regular and the guy is determined to show by all means that they made the right choice by doing so.

Criss has the perfect combination of charm, talent and good looks to become a fan favourite. If you think he already stole the show with his rendition of Teenage Dream on his debut episode, check out his upcoming cover of Train's "Hey Soul Sister" by clicking the video above! Thoughts?

New "V" promo... with Jane Badler!

A new promo for the second season of "V" has surfaced and it looks AMAZING! Fans of the original will be pleased, as it features Jane Badler's first appearance as Anna's mother, Diana. Jane Badler who played Diana in the original mini series, was signed on to appear only on 4 episodes at first, but will finally appear on all 10 episodes of the second season. Click on the video above to watch! Are you excited for the return of "V"?

New ABC pilot casts Andie Macdowell

According to EW, star Andie Mcdowell has been cast in the upcoming ABC's family drama pilot, What Would Jane Do. The one-hour scripted series tells the story of Jane, a 16 year old (played by Erica Dasher) who works for a cutting edge fashion company after the people there mistake her for an adult.

Macdowell will play the character of Grey, who is described as “the hard-nosed, tough-as-nails boss that Jane goes to work for.” The ABC Family TV series will see the character of Jane "juggling life as a regular teenager in high school and as an assistant to a high-powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion … all while trying to keep her true identity a secret.”

Sounds interesting! It is always good to have Macdowell back, specially playing a mean and bossy character on TV every week. Thoughts?

Gwyneth Paltrow stops by Chelsea Lately

Gwyneth Paltrow has been everywhere these days, between her guest appearance on Glee and her promotion for her upcoming movie, Country Strong, she has been all over the place. Warner Brothers announces 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' reboot

Back in May 2009, it was announced that a big screen adaptation of the hit show Buffy The Vampire Slayer was in the works for the big screen. The bad news? Acclaimed director Joss Whedon who wrote the 1992 movie and created the TV series in 1997 was not going to be involved in the project. "I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck," he said.

Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, actress Whit Anderson (Yes Man) will be writing the new movie's screenplay while Charles Roven (Batman Begins) will produce it. Anderson has expressed her love for the character:

"I didn't really watch much television at all, but I always watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That was the one show I would watch when I got home," Anderson said.  "I just loved this character. I was the same age as Buffy, and it was so rare to have a female lead character on TV in those days who was strong and capable and smart but also allowed to be feminine."

Whedon on the other hand has expressed his "mixed emotions" about this new movie reboot of the franchise:
"This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths - just because they can’t think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself," he joked to E! Online.

Whedon admitted with his usual witty humour that he had "always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was," he continued. "And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill."

What is going on in Hollywood these days? Are they really that uninspired? As a Buffy fan, this project really gets on my nerves, as we (the fans) have been begging for a movie for years, but with the characters from TV we all know and love... and specially with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Joss Whedon involved. This has disaster written all over it! Why the hell is an actress writing the screenplay? And the worst part is, after it flops, there won't be any interest whatsoever in doing a proper movie with the original characters. If its not going to be made properly, it is better to leave it the way it is!

What do you guys think? Should this reboot be dismissed? Let me know in the comments!

First Watch: Red Riding Hood Trailer

It seems as if the classical story Red Riding Hood is no longer suitable for children, at least according to the trailer that has surfaced from the upcoming film adaptation starring Amanda Seyfried. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke of “Twilight” fame, the movie tells the story of a village which is terrorised by a werewolf.

Seems like no brothers Grimm tale is safe from a more adult oriented adaptation these days. I really love that Amanda Seyfried stars as the main lead character, and the rest of the cast is amazing (Gary Oldman, Virginia Madsen) but I'm still not sure that the choice of having Hardwicke as the director will benefit the film. Taking into account the disastrous job she did with Twilight, one cannot help but wonder if this will be same kind of movie that only teenagers will be able to enjoy, only with werewolfs instead of vampires.

Check out the video above for a preview of what to expect. Thoughts?

Joss Whedon: "Wonder Woman is Angelina Jolie"

Acclaimed director Joss Whedon has recently declared to Entertainment Weekly that his ideal choice for Wonder Woman would be Angelina Jolie. Whedon, who will start shooting  The Avengers movie early next year, was approached five years ago to write a script for the big screen adaptation of Wonder Woman that unfortunately never came to fruition.

Now, he has revealed that he modeled his particular version of the Amazonian goddess after Jolie: "For me, Wonder Woman was basically Angelina Jolie," Whedon said. "She spends a lot of time flying around. She works in a lot of different countries. She’s very global. And she’s appalled by the way people treat each other."

What do you say? Would you like the idea of Jolie as the superheroine or do you envision someone else for the role?

Hollywood veterans strike a pose for V Magazine

Three legendary Hollywood veterans appear on three different covers for V's Magazine “Who Cares about Age Issue” and they look fierce! Faces like Sigourney Weaver, Jane Fonda or Susan Sarandon have shared their thoughts on how is life in Hollywood when you are a woman of a certain age:

Susan Sarandon (64): “I wouldn't want to be 20 now. I know so much more, and I'm much more comfortable in my skin, saggy as it is.When I hear young girls complaining about superficial things ... You're at the peak of your physical beauty right now! Just enjoy it and stop worrying about your thighs being too big."

Jane Fonda (72): “There’s fabulous things about being older. The older people get, the less scared they are. All the studies show you’re not as anxious. People have less hostility, they have less negative emotions. I love being productive, I'm never bored. I'm always coming up with new things, whether it's making a DVD or a book, or making movies. I always want to exteriorize what's going on inside of me."

Sigourney Weaver (61): “I never worry when they say ‘there are no roles’ or whatever. As long as people are telling stories, there will be great roles for all shapes, sizes, and sexes. You just keep moving and things come.”

These are truly talented magnificent women who have aged gracefully and have managed to stay relevant to this day. V Magazine's "Who Cares About Age" issue is out now!

Is Teri Hatcher leaving 'Desperate Housewives'?

According to reports, series veteran Teri Hatcher is preparing to leave the hit show Desperate Housewives at the end of next season, as she already has new projects lined up for her. According to a source from The Mail on Sunday, the actress who plays Susan Mayer is developing a sitcom that she wants to start working on just as soon as she wraps up on the ABC series.

Hatcher isn't the only star of the show that allegedly wants out, as Felicity Huffman is rumoured to be considering leaving the show too, something that will put the series in danger of cancellation. A spokesperson for ABC said: "We are working on the next season at the moment and we haven't got anything to say about the one after." Back in July, creator Marc Cherry expressed his intention of making season nine its last, stating that he hoped to keep its core cast intact until the end of the show.

I really hope that they keep the original cast together or end the show before someone leaves, since the dinamic of the four main characters is what keeps it alive.

What do you think? Will you watch Desperate Housewives without one or two of its main lead characters?

UPDATE: Teri Hatcher has denied these claims via her Facebook page:

"There are not enough adjectives to describe how stupid, off base, and ridiculously untrue this is. 'Newspapers' should be accountable for this kind of irresponsible journalism and reckless fabrication of a story. What disturbs me the most is that one fan would consider for one second that I would "quit" what has been one of the highlights of my career for which I am grateful on a daily basis. I have never said nor inferred otherwise.

They made no effort to contact me or my representatives or the network to fact check. I am awaiting a retraction and apology at the least for mucking up everyone's Sunday with this huge, hurtful lie.I will say it again, I love Desperate Housewives, the cast and crew are like family and I am with it till it's cancelled. Vanessa Williams and the writers have brought a new energy to the show this year and I expect and hope it can continue on for a long time."

Watch Michael Jackson's unreleased music video

Back in 2003, Michael Jackson was about to release his single, "One More Chance", from his greatest hits album, "Number Ones". During his stay in Las Vegas, he was in the middle of the filming of his new music video when the new allegations against him became breaking news all over the world. He was forced to leave inmediately after only one day of shooting and the music video has been shelved in his personal archive... until now.

Click above to watch the unfinished result of what could have been the great last music video from the King of Pop!

Is 'Weeds' ending after next season?

That's the word, according to series creator Jenji Kohan who has admitted to TV Guide that she feels "the seventh season is the final season". Everyone's contract is up next year, [including] the actors and mine" she said. "Seven years is a good run, and I'd rather leave while on top. I'd never say never, but I have a feeling this right be it."

However, Kohan admits she is partly sad to see the show ending, saying:  "It's very strange and exciting and scary and sad in a lot of ways. We have such an extraordinary team".

As far as the final farewell goes, Kohan stated that she already knows how the series is going to end:
"There are two versions of the end of the series that I've had in mind, and it would be figuring out which way to go."

"Weeds" is one of my favourite summer shows, it has great writing and Mary Louise Parker is simply amazing as Nancy, but I have to agree with Kohan: it is time to give it closure or the stories will get absurd. I just hope that the series ends on a positive note as those characters have already gone through so much!

Are you sad to see "Weeds" reach its final season? Or do you think the show could go on a little longer? Tell me all about it in the comments below!

Some exciting Glee news!

Brace yourselves Gleekers because the rumours were true! Glee is finally covering a song from the King of Pop, Michael Jackson! And it is no ordinary song, but his biggest hit ever... the iconic "Thriller"!! According to EW, it will happen on the post-super Bowl episode which will be one of the most expensive of the whole series ever. The episode will not be Jackson themed, it will also feature songs by Katy Perry or Lady Antebellum among others.

On other related Glee news, series creator Ryan Murphy has expressed his desire to bring back Gwyneth Paltrow in the show's future. Paltrow's episode attracted the biggest audience since the show's Britney Spears-themed instalment and was loved by critics and fans everywhere. Not only that but her version of Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" has reached number one on iTunes.

And the last piece of Glee news is related to a cast member who has been made a regular for next season... Harry Shum Jr.! Yes, it seems that we'll be seeing a lot more of Mike Chang dance numbers from now on.

Pretty exciting news, right? Are you happy about the Michael Jackson number? Did you enjoy Gwyneth Paltrow's performance? Sound off in the comments!

MTV's "Teen Wolf" remake teaser trailer

MTV has premiered the teaser promo for its upcoming new TV series based on the 80's movie Teen Wolf which starred Michael J. Fox. The show still doesn't have a premiere date but it has been confirmed that the first season will consist of 12 episodes.

Talk about a makeover! It doesn't look bad, but it really has almost nothing to do with the film it was based on except for the werewolf theme and the main character's name. Check it out for yourselves on the video above! Thoughts?

Kirsten Dunst speaks about Spider-man reboot

Kirsten Dunst has recently admitted to Screen Junkies that she absolutely supports the new Spider-man reboot project and that she was happy with the way things ended regarding the original trilogy she starred in.

"I felt like what we had during those films was so special, like me and Tobey and Sam," she said. "It was such a unique experience and also because it was these independent minds and actors and you're making this huge film."

"It's great that all these kids are such huge fans and to be a part of a movie like that is very special, especially a good franchise. So to end on Spider-Man 3 I think is the perfect way to leave it."

As far as the new franchise goes, Dunst is supportive of the new cast and is happy to pass over the torch to them: "I like Andrew Garfield so much as an actor - and Emma Stone - so I think they'll be great in the new version."

The actress also shared her thoughts on why Sony decided to reboot the whole franchise with a new cast instead of going for "Spider-man 4" stating that "sometimes they always want to push things for money reasons or whatever and it just didn't come together the way they probably had wanted or envisioned."

When asked if she will be checking out the currently untitled Spider-man reboot, Dunst responded she absolutely will."Of course I'm going to see the movie! she said. "Of course."

It really doesn't come as a surprise that Dunst is a complete sweetheart as usual, but even if she's giving her blessing to the new film, I personally still believe that the new reboot is pointless. They should have continued with a four installment and develop more the characters instead of starting again from scratch.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the Spider-man reboot?

Patricia Arquette confirms 'Medium' cancellation

Patricia Arquette has confirmed that the series current seventh season of her CBS hit show Medium, will be its last. Arquette, who stars as psychic consultant Allison DuBois, has stated that the series has only two episodes left to film.

"I was trying to get information from the writers about the last episode," she said. "I don't know what it's going to be, but they're really excited about it."

She continued: "They're like, 'We're just going to burn the whole thing down!' I'm really excited. It's been a great time. I love that time in my life."

CBS  has not officially confirmed or denied the cancellation as of yet.

Are you sad to see this show end?

Rent returns to Broadway in 2011

One of the best contemporary Broadway musicals is returning with a brand new cast in June 2011 to its original setting, New York. "Rent" was a groundbreaking stage production that premiered in 1994 at off-Broadway's New York Theater Workshop. The sudden death of its creator, Jonathan Larson, brought media attention to it which, later on, helped for its transition to Broadway with great success winning 4 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Now, original producer Allan S. Gordon has decided to bring it back to New York after viewing last summer's version of the show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The show closed in 2008 after 14 successful years and an adaptation to the big screen which included many stars of the original cast. "The truth is, it really is timeless," Gordon says. "It still works." According to Gordon, the off-Broadway version will cost around $1.5 million as opposed to the $300 million that the original Broadway production used to cost. Rent grossed nearly $300 million and created stars such as Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal or Taye Diggs.

I believe this is great news for Broadway fans. I was fortunate enough to catch the show back in 2005 and I still recall it as one of the best theaters experiences of my entire life. "Rent" has a timeless story that could easily speak to many new generations to come, and some excellent music too!

What do you say? Are you ready to sing "Seasons of Love" one more time?

First Listen: Michael Jackson & Akon "Hold My Hand"

The first official single from Michael Jackson's posthumous album, "Michael", has been released and it features a duet with RnB singer Akon. "Hold My Hand" is a mid-tempo song written by Akon and Claude Kelly which was leaked a while ago, only this time it features more vocals by Michael and a much finished musical production.

One of Michael's nephews, Taj Jackson, took his twitter to speak about the track:

"HOLD MY HAND" was the last song my uncle Michael every played to me in person. He was SO PROUD OF IT. I'll never forget that smile he had on his face as the song played through the speakers (in his room) at the Palms Hotel in Vegas. After the song was over, he asked me what I honestly thought of it. I told him it was a worldwide number one song and that it was going to be a huge. He was so happy to hear that.

I did give the song one slight criticism though. I told my uncle that he needed to be singing more in the chorus and at the end of the song... lol. I said that we (the fans) would want to hear his voice more. :-)

Hold my Hand" will be officially released tomorrow, November 15th. I'm definitely excited to buy it as soon as it becomes available knowing that the moment I play it, I will instantly remember the day my uncle first played it to me. It's these memories of him that I hold on to and cherish with all my heart. Words can't express how much I love and miss my uncle Michael.

Taj's statement about the song is very relevant, considering he and the rest of the Jackson family have been very critical regarding the authenticity of some of the Cascio tracks such as "Breaking News" included in the forthcoming Epic release, "Michael".

The single is available for purchase November 15th on iTunes. Click below to listen to "Hold My Hand"! Are you looking forward for more unreleased music from the King of Pop?

New Scream 4 Official Stills!

Three new Scream 4 images have surfaced and they look good! In them, we can see a new encounter between Sydney and Ghostface and a picture of the new younger cast.

As far as Kevin Williamson's involvement with the franchise goes, considering recent reports that he has signed a 3 year deal with Warner Bros TV  to continue running his hit show Vampire Diaries as well as develop other projects, it is still uncertain whether he'll be willing to come back to write the scripts for Scream 5 and Scream 6.

Reports of tension on the set of the movie began soon after filming started, stating that the script written by Williamson was suffering from rewrites by Ehren Kruger ("Scream 3"). Since then, Williamson's public separation from the project has been evident, leaving the option for new sequels in limbo. Truth of the matter is, Williamson had already a new trilogy in mind and had pitched his ideas to the studio, plus he has a contract option to write Scream 5.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Scream 4 does well to find out! In the meantime, are you anticipating the release of Scream 4? Would you like to see a new trilogy happen? Sound off in the comments below!

Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg reunite after 25 years

This upcoming Monday, the cast of "The Color Purple" will reunite for the first time in 25 years on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Above all, what has made this reunion special is the fact that fellow actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey have ended a 20 year period of not talking to each other at all. All these years, there have been rumours flying that the pair did not get along very well and have avoided each other constantly. The pair first met as co-stars during the filming of the movie which scored Winfrey an Oscar for Best Actress.

Check out the emotional reunion between the two on the clip below! Do you think they are being sincere?

Rihanna premieres "What's my name" music video

Rihanna has just scored her eighth number one hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 with "What's My Name" and now you can watch the music video for the track featuring Drake. The clip directed by Philip Andelman shows Rihanna walking down the streets of New York City and flirting with rapper Drake as she sings the words to her song.

The video is nothing spectacular, but it is an improvement from "Only Girl In The World". Check it out above! Thoughts?

Darren Criss to become a series regular on "Glee"

Fresh out of his debut on this week's episode of "Glee", newcomer Darren Criss could not have asked for a better start on the show. Not only his presence on the series has been well received by fans, but his rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" is storming the iTunes charts this week! So, it comes as no surprise that producers have seen the potential in him and are reportedly in talks to make the actor/singer/songwriter a series regular. This would be the first permanent TV gig for Criss who initially came on to the show as a recurring character.

If you haven't seen Darren in action, check out his dreamy performance of "Teenage Dream" below! Do you believe he is a good addition to the show? Let me know in the comments!

Gwyneth Paltrow performs at the CMA Awards

Gwyneth Paltrow performed live at the awards show the title theme from her upcoming movie, "Country Strong" and she did really good! It takes a lot of guts to perform in front of a crowd like that for the very first time, specially taking into account that she isn't a professional singer and that she was being watched by the whole Country industry! Congrats Gwyneth!

The Michael Jackson drama over new song continues

After members of the Jackson family and fans claimed that the new Michael Jackson song, "Breaking News", was sung by an impersonator, it was only a matter of time before the singer's Estate addressed this controversial matter. Howard Weitzman, attorney for the Estate of Michael Jackson released the following statement:

Dear Fans

As the Michael album was being put together, it was decided to bring Teddy Riley on board to work on several songs, including “Breaking News,” a song Michael recorded with Eddie Cascio and James Porte in late 2007 while living at the Cascio family home with his children. Riley produced and submitted “Breaking News” to Sony for inclusion on the album. At that time, no one ever mentioned that the vocals we heard on the Cascio songs, which were basically in demo format, might not be Michael. It was known, however, that the background vocals were a combination of Michael and James Porte.

After the tracks were submitted to Sony, three of these Cascio songs were selected to be on the album, and “Breaking News” was one of the three. The day after the submission and selection of the album tracks, for the very first time, the authenticity of Michael’s vocals on the Cascio tracks was questioned.

Because of these questions, I was immediately asked by co-Executors John Branca and John McClain to conduct an investigation regarding the authenticity of the lead vocals on the Cascio tracks.

Six of Michael’s former producers and engineers who had worked with Michael over the past 30 years - Bruce Swedien, Matt Forger, Stewart Brawley, Michael Prince, Dr. Freeze and Teddy Riley - were all invited to a listening session to hear the raw vocals of the Cascio tracks in question. All of these persons listened to the a cappella versions of the vocals on the Cascio tracks being considered for inclusion on the album, so they could give an opinion as to whether or not the lead vocals were sung by Michael. They all confirmed that the vocal was definitely Michael.

Michael’s musical director and piano player on many of his records over a 20-year period, Greg Phillinganes, played on a Cascio track being produced for the album, and said the voice was definitely Michael’s. Dorian Holley, who was Michael’s vocal director for his solo tours for 20 plus years (including the O2 Concert Tour) and is seen in the This Is It film, listened to the Cascio tracks and told me the lead vocal was Michael Jackson.

These are all engineers, producers and musicians who worked on tours and/or in the studio with Michael when he was recording Bad, Thriller, Off The Wall, Dangerous, Invincible, HIStory and Blood On The Dance Floor, and they all reconfirmed their belief that the lead vocals were Michael’s voice on the Cascio tracks.

The Estate then retained one of the best-known forensic musicologists in the nation to listen to the vocals without any instrumental accompaniment (“a cappella”), and to compare them with a cappella vocals from previous Michael songs. This expert performed waveform analysis, an objective scientific test used to determine audio authenticity, on the Cascio tracks, as well as previously released tracks with Michael’s voice, and reported that ALL of the lead vocals analyzed (which included Cascio tracks) were the voice of Michael Jackson.

Sony Music conducted their own investigation by hiring yet a second well-respected forensic musicologist who also compared the a cappella lead vocals from Cascio tracks against previously released vocals of Michael's, and found that Michael’s voice was the on all sets of the raw vocals. The Cascio tracks were also played for two very prominent persons in the music industry who played crucial roles in Michael’s career. Both of these individuals believed that the lead vocals were Michael’s.

Just to be absolutely certain, I also contacted Jason Malachi, a young singer who some persons had wrongfully alleged was a “soundalike” singer that was hired to sing on the Cascio tracks, and I confirmed that he had no involvement with this project whatsoever.

Sony decided that, given the overwhelming objective evidence resulting from the exhaustive investigations outlined above, they wanted to release a record that included three of the Cascio-Porte tracks - because they believed, without reservation, that the lead vocal on all of those tracks were sung by Michael Jackson.

Although there still seem to be concerns being expressed in some quarters about the authenticity of the lead vocals, notwithstanding the opinion of those who worked with Michael, and two independent forensic analysts, ultimately, Michael’s fans will be the judges of these songs, as they always are. We take all fan comments very seriously, and as I’d stated above, there is nothing more important to the Estate than Michael’s music, his legacy and his fans.

Michael’s fans are extraordinary in their quest for accuracy and their passions to raise their voices in a search for truth! We join with them in our care and concern for Michael. We are continuing to follow up with those who have worked in the studio or on tours with Michael, and if any new information comes to light, we will keep you and the fans advised.

Thanks,

Howard

However,  fans all around the world are still suspicious as to how much of Jackson's original vocals remain on the song released on Monday on the singer's website and, apparently, they are not the only ones. Music producer Rodney Jerkins who co-produced Jackson's last studio album, "Invincible", took his twitter acount to express his escepticism over the song saying "doesnt sound like him to me". Cory Rooney, another important executive producer who used to work for Sony, took his Facebook and voiced his concerns about the recent statement. You can read it below:

I have read the statement from the MJ estate and I have to say that it's just more bullshit!!! I was in that room, and the majority of the people mentioned did NOT agree that It was MJ!!! Some felt it sounded like him but all agree that there was nothing there that was consistent with any MJ habits like finger snaps, headphone bleeding, foot stomping or just simple things like his voice asking for another take.

Both dr. Freeze and Teddy Riley sat with Taryll Jackson and myself and stated that they felt what we felt. As for the specialists that were brought in, I don't think anyone from the actual Jackson family got any direct confirmation that made them feel any different then what they have felt all along. If anyone wants to here directly from the family please follow Taryll, TJ, or Taj Jackson on Twitter. There are to many non Jackson's involved in the estate!!!!!

So there you have it! It seems that the controversy is far from over and it remains to be seen if the album will finally include "Breaking News" and the rest of the Cascio tracks. To me the situation is crystal clear: If Sony and the Estate really cared about the fans as much as they claim to, they should release the demo versions of these Cascio songs without any production whatosever, just the raw acapella version and let the fans decide if it is real or fake.

As far as the rest of Michael's unreleased music is concerned, they should leave the songs as untouched as possible and only release the ones that were finished or almost finished by him. The tracks that were left unfinished can always be released as rare material for fans on special editions. However, Sony and the Estate only care about money and profiting from the fans, even if this means selling fake songs with impersonators under the name of the late Michael Jackson. After all it´s business, right? Isn't it a little suspicious that of all the songs they could have released to promote the new record, they decided to chose the most suspicious one?

What is your point of view in all of this? Who do you believe? Let me know in the comments below!

Warner Bros provides a "Veronica Mars" email for fans

Still waiting for that "Veronica Mars" movie? Well, it seems that Warner Bros is finally paying attention to the fans of the short-lived CW show because according to TV Squad, the company has set up an email address for fans of "Veronica Mars" who want to ask for a movie.

The show had a cult following during its three-year run and, ever since it came to an abrupt end, fans have been campaigning for a big screen adaptation. Even the show's star, Kirsten Bell, has stated on several ocassions that she would be more than willing to reprise her popular TV role and has encouraged fans to let their voices be heard by Warner executives who own the rights to the franchise.

The show's executive producer and creator, Rob Thomas, admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by this move: I was as surprised as anyone that Warner Bros. set up a Veronica Mars email address," he said. "No-one has talked to me about it. I was happy to see it. It gives me a glimmer of hope, but I'm just like everyone else, wondering, 'What does this mean?' I hope it means it's under consideration, but I have no insider knowledge on that front."

If you are one of those "Veronica Mars" followers (and I know there are lots of you out there), you can now write to VeronicaMarsMovie@warnerbros.com and let them know how badly you want to see this show adapted for the big screen.  Come on guys, lets make this movie happen!

First Look: Gwyneth Paltrow on "Glee"!

This sure looks good! We already knew Gwyneth Paltrow could sing  (she proved that in"Duets" and her latest movie "Country Strong") but, by the looks of it, her guest appearance on "Glee" is a match made in heaven. Click below to watch a sneak peek of what's to come with her debut on the show next week! Are you looking forward to this episode?

Tune of the week: Robyn - Time Machine

I'm not particularly into Robyn's music but just recently, she released a compilation called "Body Talk" where she happens to include a collaboration with one of the best pop producers out there (and one of my personal favourites too), Max Martin. This isn't the first time they collaborate on a song together, as Martin also produced one of her first hits, "Show Me Love", when the Swedish singer was just starting out in the music business. "Time Machine" is really addictive and proves how sometimes a good pop song doesn't have to be pretencious to be appreciated.

Listen to "Time Machine" below! Thoughts?
