Tune of the week: Seal "Secret"

This song reminds me why Seal has always been a favourite of mine. He always comes up with such beautiful, yet simple love songs. In this new video, he appears alongside his wife, Heidi Klum, in what he describes as a simbolic representation of their relationship. He explains: "That's why I'm a singer. I don't necessarily like talking about my songs or lyrics for that matter. But for anyone who wants to know what inspires me to make music, what makes me tick, why do I get out of bed every morning - it's because I love my family. I love my wife."

Watch Seal's incredibly sensual and tender new video above! Thoughts?

Details and dates about Take That's new album!

"Progress" is the title for Take That's first studio album back as a five-piece since the departure of Robbie Williams back in 1995. Fifteen years later, the five members of the band have agreed to reunite and will release an album of new material on November 22.

The first single, 'The Flood' will be available on November 14,  and it will be followed by a video which has already been shot. For this new venture the band has collaborated with executive producer Stuart Price, widely known for his work on Madonna's "Confessions on a Dancefloor" or Kylie Minogue's latest effort, "Aphrodite".

"Never say never" is the phrase that comes to my mind when i think about this reunion. After all the controversy between Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, who would have thought that after all these years everything would be forgotten and they would all be working back together as if nothing happened? It isn't the first time though, remember Geri Halliwell's reunion with the Spice Girls a few years back?

Are you happy that the bandmates have gotten over their personal issues? Hit the comments below!

Watch this: "I am number four" trailer

This sure is going to be one the big movies of next year! "I am number four" tells the story of John Smith, an apparently tipical high school student with more than one secret. Not only he's got amazingly powerful abilities but he is a fugitive on the run as he is being chased by a deadly enemy who wants destroy him. Three of them have suffered this fate in the past and, as the movie title says... he is number four.

The teaser trailer for the movie has been released and the cast of the D.J.Caruso film includes Alex Pettyfer and  Dianna Agron ("Glee") among others. This sure looks good! Watch the trailer above and head to the comments section. Are you looking forward to this movie?

First Scream 4 official image!

Entertainment Weekly has released the first "Scream 4" picture and, by the looks of it, Gale Weathers future is about to get interesting to say the least. Lets hope she turns around before Ghostface gets closer. What is your favourite scene from the"Scream" franchise? Let me know in the comments below!

"Ripper", the other Buffy spin-off that could have been

Just recently, Joss Whedon, creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and actor Anthony Head  (who played Giles for seven seasons on that show) have spoken to SFX about "Ripper", another Buffy spin-off which never materialized.

According to Head, “There was one story. Joss fed it to me when we were filming the last episode of Buffy. He told me this idea, and it was just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. And I said, ‘Yeah, I’d go with that.’ Then it all went very quiet. The problem being that anything to do with the Buffy universe has to be signed off by so many people, it’s pretty much a non-starter from the beginning."

For years there were rumours that a show about the character of Rupert Giles was in the works and Whedon himself even confirmed that it was something he was looking forward to. So, what went wrong?

“It nearly came to fruition. I introduced Joss to [former Doctor Who executive producer] Julie Gardner. I met Julie, and she started talking about Joss, so I put the two of them together. They got on really, really well… But then Joss had that lunch meeting with Eliza Dushku, and that was that."

So, there you have it. "Dollhouse" happened and "Ripper" never became a reality. However, Anthony Head hasn't given up on the project yet and he states that he would “love to do it in some form. I still think it’s a beautiful idea, which is why I’m not telling you what it is – it’s the most extraordinary ghost story. It doesn’t have to be Giles. I’d still do it as a one-off.”

I would personally watch anything that has to do with the Buffyverse and has the name Joss Whedon attached to it. Lets just hope the upcoming "Avengers" movie by Whedon is a big hit that enables the tv wizard to pursue interesting projects like this one. Are you sad that "Ripper" never got the chance to take off? Hit the comments!

New Michael Bublé video: "Hollywood"

A while ago, I posted Michael Bublé's new singleNow he's back in full force with his new music video, "Hollywood", and... lets just say he's embraced his inner comedian. Watch his particular vision of the Hollywood lifestyle above. Thoughts?

Kirsten Bell totally supports a "Veronica Mars" movie!

Kirsten Bell is a sweetheart! Not only she totally supports a "Veronica Mars" movie project, but she says she'll be happy to finance it herself! "I absolutely would [finance the film]...but it's a business and the sad truth is that they're not going to relinquish the rights to something and let us do it," Bell explained. “We really have to do it with them because they own it.”

The script for the movie  has been penned by series creator Rob Thomas, but the project has never seen the light of day due partly to the fact that Warner Bros does not believe they would get their investment back The show, which was cancelled in 2007 due to low ratings, have always had a loyal fan base and the rumours of a possible movie to tie up storylines has been mentioned for years now.

Bell is committed to getting this movie done and she seems determined to do so: "So my duty, because I wanted this movie made from the minute our show got canceled, is to a) do it before I’m 40; and b) to prove to Warner Bros. that there is an audience.”

I can't imagine many stars out there who would be so humble and honest about this as Kirsten Bell is. "Veronica Mars" was an original show, with some of the best writing in television and unfairly treated by the audience. I still can't believe there are so many awful shows that seem to go on forever while this one got the axe so soon, without enough time to tie up loose ends. Fans deserve closure.
So, what is your opinion in all of this? Would you go see a "Veronica Mars" movie?

Eliza Dushku turned down a Buffy spinoff!

Back in the day, right before "Buffy the vampire slayer" ended its seven year run, there were rumours floating around stating that actress Eliza Dushku was offered to continue to play her character, Faith, in a new series. However, that project never took off and the Buffyverse never came back.

Seven years later, Dushku has confirmed that old rumour to SFX, stating she "met with Joss and [writer] Tim Minear and spoke about the potential for a Faith spinoff. But Buffy had... gone on [for] seven years and Joss [said] he couldn't play the kind of day-to-day role he had on [that show]."

She admits that Whedon's decision influenced on her final say on not pursuing the new series. "It wasn't that I felt... it wasn't right [without Joss] but it was a contributing factor," she states. "On top of it, I had just played this character for almost five years [and] it felt like time to explore a different role."

By how things turned out, it might seem as if she made the wrong choice but Dushku does not look back. She adds: "I ended up making a decision that... I don't regret, [although] in hindsight maybe the talks could have continued a bit longer."

I really think it is a shame that they did not get to produce the show and give it a try. Faith was a very dark and interesting character, and would have made a great show. However I can see how Whedon's lack of involvement could have influenced on her decision. They still should do a Buffy movie though! What do you think? Did Eliza made the right choice? Sound off in the comments!

Listen to this: Austin Brown "Target Practice"

At first sight, Austin Brown is no different from other RnB singers out there but, if we take a closer look to his family tree, we discover that he originates from the most significant musical dinasty the world has ever known: The Jackson family!

Yes, Austin is the son of Rebbie Jackson, and most important, Michael and Janet Jackson's nephew. He has grown up surrounded by music, so it is just natural that he wants to pursue a career out of that. He has an album coming up called "85", and his first single is called "Target Practice" produced by none other than Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who has also produced Janet's hit single "Feedback" or Michael Jackson's "You rock my world" among others.

The song is not exactly something else, but it definitely shows potential for this newcomer. Listen to "Target Practice" below! Do you think Austin might follow his family footsteps?

Album Review: Bruno Mars "Doo-Wops & Hooligans"

It is no secret that I have a soft spot in my heart for this artist since I first heard him on the smash hit single "Billionaire". I could not help but to try to find more about the guy who features his vocals on such an incredibly addictive chorus. That artist, of course, is Bruno Mars and he is about to irrupt in the music industry with his debut album, "Doo Wops & Hooligans". This album is, in this day and age, a rare gem filled with potential hit singles and no filler songs. Everything in this record, from the minimalist album cover, to the tracklist order and the quality of the songs is incredibly accurate. The album starts with its best track, "Grenade", a pop song with dark lyrics about a non-reciprocal love affair in which Mars unleashes all his vocal power while singing with both passion and desperation. (You can listen to it here)

Next track on the album is number one hit single "Just the way you are" and from that moment on, it is a non-stop succession of soulful music that includes a wide range of pop goodness. Even though there are only ten songs on the record, variety is the key word to describe it, as it features influences from pop-rock ("The Other Side"), Rock & Roll ("Runaway Baby"), RnB ("Our first time"), Reggae ("Liquor Store Blues", "The lazy song"), and even some dreamy laid-back singer-songwriter summer tunes ("Count on me"). The big power ballad, "Talking to the moon", showcases the most nostalgic side of Mars, while "Our first time" is a baby-making mid-tempo delicate song, remiscent of the good old days of Janet Jackson. "Marry you" is sure to become a fan-favourite as it combines uplifting melodicism and sense of humour with Bruno singing about eloping to the girl he loves.

Truth is, comparisons aside, this record consolidates Bruno Mars as an artist in his own right. Without a doubt, this is the music you would want on your cd collection. The fact that the album only features two guest vocalists is also a plus, in a music world saturated by rappers featuring on every top ten single out there. "Doo-wops & Hooligans" drops October 5th. You can listen to "Marry you", an  uplifting up-tempo song taken from his forthcoming album, below. Are you into Bruno Mars? Express your thoughts in the comments!

Update: Turns out "Runaway" is a non-album track (not to be confused with "Runaway Baby" which does appear in the album) so I substituted that streaming song for another of my favourites, "Marry you". If you guys would like me to re-upload the other song, just say so and I'll do my best. Thanks for reading!

More info about Mariah's upcoming Christmas album!

As you all probably know by now, Mariah is releasing a new Holiday album later this year titled "Merry Christmas 2 you". According to reports, her first single, "Oh Santa" will be released to radio on October 11th and will be available on iTunes the day after. The video for the song is going to be filmed on October 1st, and will be part of a big promotional campaign including tv and radio appearances all over the States. As of right now, Mariah has just arrived at Singapore City where she is scheduled to perform a concert this Sunday.

Are you excited for Mariah's new holiday music?  Let it all out in the comments below!

Listen to Shayne Ward's new single!

Shayne Ward's new single has leaked! It is a nice cover of a Nickelback's song, although, to be honest, I was expecting an original catchy pop tune after three years of absence. Let's hope the rest of the album has some potential hit songs! Listen to "Gotta be somebody" below!  Thoughts?

Tune of the week: Usher ft. Pitbull "The DJ got us falling in love"

Ok, so I'm aware this song premiered like 2 months ago but I just can't seem to shake it off my head, and since it is Saturday night, what better way to celebrate than a dance tune to get in the right mood? This song belongs to Usher's EP "Versus" and it has been his first top ten hit in a while. Produced by melody wizard Max Martin, I personally have to say it is one of the first Usher songs I really dig since his "Confessions" era. Watch the video above and have a great Saturday night!

Will Hilarie Burton and Chad Michael Murray return to "One Tree Hill"?

According to show creator, Mark Schwann, it is definitely something he would really like to see happen. He told Zap2it that "Brooke's wedding would be a really organic, kind of poignant way to bring Peyton and Lucas back. It's my hope that we'll see them at the wedding. I'm a fan of that."

Not only is Schwann keen for it to happen, but show star Sophia Bush agrees that it would make all the sense in the world considering this might be Tree Hill's swang song. She says, "As we're winding down and figuring out how to end something that's meant so much to so many people, for me, a lot comes down to the friendship between Brooke and Peyton. I'd like to see it again. I love working with Hilarie."

No word yet on what Chad Michael Murray thinks about this reunion, but what does Hilarie Burton have to say? "I'll be perfectly honest with you. I haven't been asked," she says. "But if they wanted me, I love Wilmington and I love 'One Tree Hill.' I always will. The ball's not in my court." Burton assures that " 'One Tree Hill' gave me my start, and I'm very grateful for the years that I had there and the relationships that I formed there. It's six years with a small group of people. I love seeing them. Going there is always going home."

Are you reading this Mark Schwann? Please, make it happen! It would be amazing to see all these characters who fans have followed for eight years, reunited together again one last time before the show ends. What do you think? Are you looking forward to the return of familiar faces to Tree Hill? Let me know in the comments below!

Bruno Mars releases second single!

Soon after his arrest, Bruno Mars scored his first number one single on the Billboard charts this week with "Just the way you are". And now, he's presenting his new single, "Liquor Store Blues (Feat. Damian Marley)", a reggae-infused track with Mars melodic touch taken from his debut album "Doo-wops & Hooligans" which hit stores October 5th. I'm personally infatuated with his music and his voice. Listen to the song below!  Thoughts?

Eliza Dushku guests on "The Big Bang Theory"!

Whedonverse favourite, Eliza Dushku, is coming to "The Big Bang Theory" this season and she will be playing a FBI agent. Comedy is for sure a change of genre for Dushku, who is used to having roles in more action-driven shows such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" or the most recently cancelled "Dollhouse". She will appear on the seventh episode of the new season.

I'm really looking forward to this, Eliza has mad acting skills (as most Whedon actors do) and it should be interesting to watch her on a different scenario. Will you tune in?

Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox & David Arquette talk Scream 4!

After a long three-month summer shoot, it's a wrap for "Scream 4". A few days ago, Wes Craven tweeted  “It’s the end of the beginning, and the beginning of the end… That’s a wrap on @Scream4!” probably making reference to the beginning of a new trilogy. And the cast is ready to celebrate by reflecting on the experience and looking back at all these years since the first movie came out.

ET shows us a peek at the behind-the-scenes for the new slasher film, and by the looks of it... we are in for a big scare! The movie won't come out until next April, but a teaser trailer is expected to be shown around November. In the meantime, click above to watch ET's special on the movie. Are you impatient for "Scream 4"?  I know I am!

Teri Hatcher guest stars on "Smallville"!

Do you remember the days of  "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"? Well, "Smallville" fans are about to get a flashback! According to EW's Ausiello, Teri Hatcher has signed to play none other than Lois Lane's (Erica Durance) mom on episode 8 this season! This is one of the most interesting casting scoops of the fall! As some of you will remember, Hatcher played Lois Lane alongside co-star Dean Cain (who coincidentally had a guest role on "Smallville" years ago) during the four season run the show had in the 90's.

This will be Smallville's tenth and final season and it is fair to say they have made a great job as far as guest stars related to the Superman mythology goes. Stars such as Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Margot Kidder, Helen Slater and recently Teri Hatcher have all appeared during these ten years of the show. I personally loved "Smallville" during the first few seasons but will be tuning in again to see how it all ends this year. Are you excited about this piece of casting? Let me know in the comments below!

New Bruno Mars song: Grenade (HQ)

Legal matters aside, Bruno Mars is a star in the making. I can't wait to get my hands on his debut album "Doo-wops & hooligans" next October 5th. A new song from his highly anticipated record has surfaced and it is one of the best songs i've heard in a very long time! "Grenade" not only is the opening track of the album but also the singer-songwriter's personal favorite which he hopes to release as a single in the near future. Bruno Mars recently recently stated that his record contains songs "that women are going to relate to and men are going to relate to. So doo-wops are for the girls, and hooligans are for the guys.”

All I have to say, is that i'm madly in love with this song. Listen to "Grenade" below, and tell us what you think in the comments!

Gwyneth Paltrow in talks to star in "Glee"

According to Eonline, Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow may be in talks to appear on "Glee" this season. Apparently, creator Ryan Murphy and Paltrow are very close friends and, if things go smooth, she will play a substitute teacher in two episodes airing in November. *SPOILER ALERT* After Mr. Schuester gets sick, Gwyneth's character would step in and take over glee club for two episodes. Not only the kids will adore her, but Schuester will fall for her too, complicating things with Emma.

If you're wondering if Gwyneth has got what it takes to be in "Glee", let me remind you that she has sang in front of a crowd before in her movie "Duets" and her upcoming project "Country Strong" for which she's getting strong Oscar buzz.

If you're still curious regarding Paltrow singing abilities click below to listen to her rendition of "Just my imagination" featuring  Babyface from her movie "Duets" she did years ago. Do you believe Gwyneth will fit on a show like "Glee"? Stop thinking and write it in the comments below!

Album review: Ace.of.Base "The Golden Ratio"

Ace of Base was one of my favourite swedish pop bands from the 90s, irrupting into the music scene with their world hit "All that she wants", and being included in the Guinness world book of records for having the most successful debut album ever ("Happy Nation"). However, this new incarnation of the group without the Berggren sisters fails to deliver. Their new album " The Golden Ratio" seems rushed and lacks context. The order of songs is something essential for an album to sound coherent, and this compilation of songs just isn't working. Some tracks seem overproduced, the new vocalists are just too plain to distinguish themselves from any other swedish dance group out there, and some of the songs do feel as if they are taken from different albums.

I feel that "Golden Ratio" should have established a new identity for the group; either they were going to continue the path that the former band started years ago, or they were going to go into a completely new direction. Instead, we have some songs that sound as pale imitations of the former Ace of Base ("All for you", "Blah Blah Blah on the radio" or "Told my ma"), and tracks that seem completely alienated from the album as a whole ( "Juliet", "Who am I").

On a more positive note, they have managed to include some music which is quite good and with single potential. Such is the case of the reggae lite summer pop songs "One day", "Mr Replay" and the best song of the album, the euro-dance synth track "Vision in Blue", which sounds reminiscent of the "Happy Nation" era.

However, if you were looking forward to the return of the old Ace of Base, i'm sorry to inform you that the group is dead and gone. Truth is, Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" sounds more like Ace of Base than any of the songs included on "The Golden Ratio". I guess we will have to wait until the band decides to release some outtakes from previous albums in the future in order to get our old school Ace of Base fix.

Listen to my favourite track of their new album "Vision in Blue" below. Are you hooked on the new Ace.of.Base?

Shocker! Bruno Mars arrested for coke possession!

This was truly unexpected! Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars was arrested this Sunday on suspicion of cocaine possession. Apparently, a report issued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department has identified the substance. Mars who had performed at the Hard Rock Casino earlier that day, was described by the police report as "a Latin male adult being detained by hotel security.”  Peter Hernandez (Mars real name) was apparently found with 2.6 grams of “‘white powdery substance’ believed to be cocaine.” He was released the same day and has not been charged yet.

I have to say that I am truly dissapointed by this. I still admire him as an artist and look forward to his new music, but it seems to be a sad trend for talented young artists to mess with drugs. Sadly, it never ends well. I really hope Bruno Mars will get any help he needs in order to kick off this bad habit and concentrate on his incredible musical talent.

Mariah prepares new Christmas album!

Seems like someone has finally made Mariah Carey come to her senses and she's ready to return to what she does best, sing classical mellow songs. And what is more classical than a brand new Christmas album? Mariah has previously released the succesful "Merry Christmas" which always becomes a hit every Christmas eve, and her song "All I want for Christmas is you" is still today one of the most popular hit singles of the 90's.

Maybe this is why on November 2nd, Mariah will release "Merry Christmas II You", a new collection of revisited Christmas songs such as “The First Noel,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” or “O Come All Ye Faithful" along with four new original songs including new single "Oh Santa". Songs will be produced by Randy Jackson, Jermaine Dupri ("Always be my baby"), or Grammy award winner Marc Shaiman ("Hairspray").

I personally couldn't be happier that Mariah has decided to explore her roots and returns to her old self, at least musically. She's still talented but totally lost her way lately. If she decides to stop whispering her songs and show her magical voice, these songs could be huge. I really look forward for this new project. Are you picking up Mariah's new holiday album? Hit the comments below!

James Cameron produces "True Lies" show for TV!

According to EW, a TV adaptation for the succesful movie "True Lies" is on the works for ABC. The network not only has confirmed that the project is on its early stages, but that James Cameron has agreed to executive produce the show. (Yay!) Does this mean that we are about to see how 3D technology invades our tv set? Only time will tell.

It had never crossed my mind that this movie could work as a tv show, but with James Cameron and ABC on board, this could be something to look forward to. Would you watch? Express yourself in the comments below!

Cheryl Cole's "Promise This" video is here!

Cheryl Cole just premiered her new video and it's looking really good! This song will surely be a hit in the U.K. charts! Check out the video for "Promise This" in the link above! Are you feeling Cheryl's new single? Let it all out in the comments below!

New Rihanna video leaks!

A new Rihanna song/video has leaked on the internet! Very little is known about this project, other than the song called "Who's that chick" is produced by none other than David Guetta. It is still unclear if it will appear on Rihanna's new album, "Loud", or as part of a new Guetta dance album. I'm sure we will find out soon but, in the meantime, click above to watch the video (as i'm sure it will be deleted from the internet sooner than later) and hit the comments below. Do you like Rihanna's new dance style?

More Glee music!

A new track from Glee's second season premiere has surfaced! It is none other than a new version of Travis Mccoy's "Billionaire" sung by newcomer Chord Overstreet who will be playing a new character called Sam in the second season of the show. This kid has definitely got some talent! Listen to his version of "Billionaire" below (featuring some rapping from characters Puck and Artie as well) and hit the comments! Glee returns September 21st on Fox, will you be watching?

Scream 4 newest cast addition!

Yet another familiar face has joined the already amazing cast of "Scream 4". This time it is Aimee Teegarden, mostly known from the tv show "Friday Night Lights". "Scream 4" will have its wrap up party next Saturday, before filming ends the following week. Courteney Cox was the first one to wrap up her scenes weeks ago, as she had to return early to the set of her tv show, "Cougar Town". Filming is currently undergoing in Northville (Michigan).

This project certainly looks good, and it seems that they have invested a lot in keeping it spoiler free and loyal to the fans of the franchise. It's hard to believe that it's been 14 years since the first "Scream" movie was released and the audience is still interested in these characters!

New Michael Bublé!!

Bublé is releasing a new edition of his last album "Crazy Love", and it includes some new music! His new single is called "Hollywood", which has been co-written by Michael himself and the video for the song will premiere towards the end of September. The song is a bit different from his previous music but still has that old-fashioned style that we all love him for. "Crazy Love Hollywood Edition" is out on October 25th, will you be picking up a copy? Listen to "Hollywood" below and hit the comments!

Freddie Mercury's Biopic on the way

According to Deadline, actor Sasha Baron Cohen has just signed to play singer Freddie Mercury on a Biopic about the formative years of the band Queen which led up to their popular appearance at Live Aid in 1985. Apparently the film won't include Mercury's death from complications with AIDS in 1991 or his last days dealing with the illness. The film has acquired the rights to all the band's music but it is still unknown if Mercury's vocals will be used or if they will record the songs with Cohen's voice. Production will start next year, with Robert Deniro being one of the producers of the film.

I think it was about time that someone decided to take Freddie's life to the big screen. He was a musical figure that made a big impact on the world and Queen's songs are still remembered to this day. Let's just hope the movie is well done and portrays the singer and the band realistically.

Album Review: Sara Bareilles "Kaleidoscope Heart"

"Uncharted"? Actually not so much, cause Sara Bareilles just scored her first number one album on the 200 billboard album chart this week, and after listening to "Kaleidoscope Heart" i'm sure you will discover why. It's so easy to fall in love with this album, specially if you're into organic, not so over-produced pretty pop songs with a touch of singer/songwriter magic. In her sophomore effort, Bareilles lyrics takes us through a journey of relationships, love, self-discovery and broken hearts, incorporating her own sensibility to the mix. This map of a relationship is sung with deepness and cleverness, getting us so caught up with the songs that at some point it is like a musical diary of experiences is being sung to you.

Don't get me wrong, this album may not be for everyone, but it is certainly very difficult to hate. Bareilles vocals have absolutely made a turn for the best since we last heard from her and those little stops, and tiny bits of almost-speech she delivers makes the music so much more relatable. The strongest cuts on the album are definitely "Uncharted", "Gonna get over you", the ballad "Hold my heart" and the hit single "King of Anything". However, it is the excessive quantity of songs what takes away the opportunity for this record to completely shine, leaving us with a piece of work that starts very strong but progressively weakens towards the last set of songs. The absence of a powerful piano ballad in the style of "Gravity", her strongest song from her previous effort, may dissapoint some followers but she still manages to save the day with a handful of melodic and easy-going tunes to fill the void. All in all, a recommended piece of work and a fresh breath of air in a musical world dominated by the Shakiras and Beyonces of the moment.

Check out the video for her hit "King of Everything"

Sara Bareilles - King of Anything

and listen to "Gonna get over you", one of my favourite songs from the album ,below!

First Look: Cheryl Cole's new video "Promise this"

Cheryl Cole looks fierce on the set of her new video! Judging from the images above, she's got a big one coming up! The premiere for her "Promise This" video is this Saturday September 18th, so remember to check out this site cause i'll post it as soon as it is available! The single is totally addictive and after a few more listens I'm totally hooked up! Cheryl's new album, "Messy Little Raindrops", will be in stores on November 1st. Are you anxiously waiting for it?

Shayne Ward reveals new album cover + info

Shayne Ward is finally ready to release his third album next November, and he has unveiled the cover art and title for the world to see. "Obsession" is the name of his new musical effort, after having much success with previous hits such as "No Promises" or "Breathless". According to his twitter account, Shayne's first single from his upcoming new studio album will be released on November 28th, so set your calendars! Are you looking forward to more music from Shayne Ward?

Janet Jackson's new movie

Miss Jackson has been focusing recently on her acting career and after her last movie, "Why did I get married too?" she is ready to release a new one directed by Tyler Perry called "For Colored Girls". Just recently, Janet gave a private concert at Radio City Music Hall where she performed her greatest hits. Little is known from this concert, other than she got paid a big amount of money and that she performed 23 songs including "Nasty", Rhythm Nation" or the most recent "Make me".

I think it's great to have Janet back performing, even if it is for private crowds for the time being. It's good that she stays in shape and keeps in touch with her music career now that her acting is going so well for her. From the looks of the trailer, this movie will showcase her dramatic abilities even more and it could even land her some acting recognition. Let's hope that she takes her time to record some new music too, and maybe tour again. I miss the Janet performer on stage!

Watch the trailer of Janet's new movie "For coloured girls" below!

Shannen Doherty is a "Badass"

Actress Shannen Doherty ("90210", "Charmed") is finally ready to release her first book which she has appropiately titled "Badass", a guide to living with style and (the right) attitude. Apparently it tells her story and the evolution from being a bad girl to a bad ass and her coping with fame and the tabloids.

As much as I love Shannen, I personally don't know if she can set an example for girls out there, considering her attitude problems with her castmates in the past, as well as her multiple arrests.

However, if someone has enough material and has had her share of emotional turmoil and drama to write an interesting book...that should be her. I hope that she what she has written is brutally honest and tell us more about her own thoughts looking back at her life than a self-guidance book with tips about setting an example. It's about time we know her side of the story, don't you think?

First Listen! Cheryl Cole's new song: "Promise this"

This is the radiorip for Cheryl Cole's first single from her still untitled sophomore album. It's called "Promise this" and it is an uptempo song. I'm not really sure if I like it, I was expecting something more on the lines of "Fight for this love" but it's growing on me. It will definitely be a hit in the UK. Listen to the song below and hit the comments to express your opinion of the track!

Update: Cheryl's upcoming album is titled  "Messy Little Raindrops" and it's due for release on November 1st.

"Big Bang Theory" star hospitalized

Thankfully, she's alright! Actress Kaley Cuoco suffered a broken leg when she fell off her horse while riding this weekend. She's said to be recuperating in a hospital in Los Angeles. But, what does this mean to the tv show she stars in? Unfortunately, less Penny for you "Big Bang Theory" fans, as her character will be temporarily written out of the next episode they will be taping. After that, the show will take a week-long hiatus that was previously planned. Cuoco is expected to make a full recovery and will return to the show as soon as she is better.

Get well soon Kaley, a Penny-less "Big Bang Theory" won't be as enjoyable!

Congratulations Gaga!

Lady Gaga was the clear winner of the MTV Video Music Awards last night, winning eight of the thirteen moonmen she was nominated for, including best pop video and video of the year for "Bad Romance". She surprised with her extravagant outfits as usual, specially with the last one... a dress made out of meat! Gaga not only had some words of gratitude towards her fans, but even announced the name of her next record, "Born this way" and sung a few lines of the song for the first time. Check it out by clicking on the video below!

I just saw the movie... in the trailer

What is wrong with Hollywood these days? Besides the unstoppable (and weak) number of remakes they are producing, now it seems to be impossible to watch a trailer that doesn't give away the whole movie. When are they going to learn that you don't have to show acts one, two and three in the promos to attract viewers to the theatres? Below are some trailers from upcoming movies ("Life as we know it", "Love and other drugs") that have given me that impression. Watch at your own risk!

Maroon 5 "Hands all Over" (Deluxe Edition) album review

Three years after their last album, "It won't be soon before long", Maroon 5 returns to the music scene with a brand new album entitled "Hands all over". After giving it a few listenings, I have to say I'm not amused by their new music. I was expecting much more from them after a long hiatus, and, except for a few exceptions, it seems as if the band has delivered a collection of boring and uninspired songs which is clearly a departure from previous efforts. The first single "Misery" was a premonition, an enjoyable fun song which failed to add something new to the mix. It completely felt like a dismissed song from their previous album.

The second single, "Give a little more", was however far more enjoyable and catchy which I thought the rest of the album would be. You would expect more from Robert Lange (Foreigner, AC/DC), who produced the record, but instead of pushing the sound of the group into new territory by the end of the album you seem to have listened to the same monotonous songs over and over again. Besides, the few times he ventures the band into a new sound, ("Hands all over", "No Curtain Call", "Out of Goodbyes") it fails to capture our attention. I was also expecting so much more from the Lady Antebellum collaboration, but it ended the album on such a weak note.

The good part? There still seems to be hope for Maroon 5 as they can still pull out some great songs such as "Stutter", "I can't lie" or the melodic "Never gonna leave this bed" which definitely has single potential. Of course, the deluxe edition comes with some great bonus tracks, specially the excellent cover of Alicia Keys "If I ain´t got you" where Levine delivers some impressive vocals and the acoustic version of "Never gonna leave this bed" which should have been on the regular album. All in all, a forgettable record which makes me want to hold on to my copy of  the "Songs about Jane" album to remind me why I loved this band so much in the first place.

Outstanding tracks: "Give a little more", "Stutter", "Never gonna leave this bed", "I can`t lie" and bonus track "If I ain´t got you".

Listen to my favourite track on the album, "Never gonna leave this bed" below! Are you into Maroon 5's new record?

Scream 4 casting news

According to Zap2it, Britt Robertson of TV’s "Life Unexpected" has joined the cast of Scream 4. She joins a cast full of stars (specially female), no word yet on who she will be playing, although there are rumours she could be part of the opening scene of the film.

She does a great job in the tv show, so I'm personally very curious to see what role she is having in the franchise... though, taking into account the body count in these movies, i'm guessing it's not a pivotal one. Are you looking forward to "Scream 4"?

New Ace of Base uncovered

The cover for the new Ace of Base album, "The Golden Ratio", (the first without the Berggren sisters) has been unveiled. The tracklist will be as follows (with bonus tracks changing depending on the country where it is released):

1] All 4 U

[2] Blah, Blah, Blah On The Radio

[3] The Golden Ratio

[4] Southern California

[5] Told My Ma

[6] Black Sea

[7] One Day

[8] Precious

[9] Vision In Blue

[10] Mr. Replay

[11] Who Am I

[12] Doreen

With four of these tracks already leaked online, I cannot say i'm particularly thrilled with the new direction of the band but I'm still curious about the sound of the rest of the album. Are you into the new Ace of Base?

Ironik's "Falling in Love" video feat. Jessica Lowndes

The video for the new Ironik joint, "Falling in love", has seen the light of day and it features the stunningly beautiful Jessica Lowndes lending her amazing vocals to the chorus of the track. She definitely makes the song, and I can't wait for her to release her solo material. Click above to watch the video, and don't forget to catch more of Jessica playing the character of Adrianna in the CW's hit show "90210" this fall!

Bruno Mars demo version: "Long Distance"

Remember Brandy's single "Long Distance" from her last album "Human"? Well, Bruno Mars was the songwriter of that song and the demo he recorded has leaked on the Internet... and it's so much better than the final product (this coming from a Brandy fan). I have to say that Bruno's vocals are just what the song needed to give it that feeling of anxiety and sensitivity to the message of love embedded within the song. I'm counting the days for his debut album, i'm sure Bruno Mars will be something to talk about in the music business very shortly. Listen to the demo below!

Ne-Yo debuts new song: "Hurt me"

Another song from the recording sessions of "Libra Scale" has found its way on the net. "Hurt me" is an uptempo track, produced by Stargate and reminiscent of the "Closer" era but with a new twist. Listen to the track below!

Cover art for Rihanna's new single!

This is the cover for Rihanna's new dance single "Only Girl (in the world)" from her upcoming new album, "Loud". I personally don't like the look, the wig is terrible and Rihanna distinguished herself from other female RnB singers because of her shorter hairdo. I really dig the song, though. What about you? Do you like the cover?

Ne-Yo's new video: "One in a Million"

Ne-Yo has released his new video and the sensation of deja vú is undeniable. The video is a clear homage to Michael Jackson's video "The way you make me feel" where MJ chased a girl he wanted to conquer in the streets of the city. The white socks, the black hat, the dance and the short-film concept is a non stop of influences by the king of pop (which Ne-Yo has always acknowledged). The video seems to continue the story of the previous singles "Monster" and "Champagne life", and will eventually continue on the next single to be released from "Libra Scale". Check out "One in a million" above!

First look at Jennifer Aniston in "Cougar Town"!

Take a look at the first image of the "Friends" reunion taking place when Jennifer Aniston visits "Cougar Town" this season. Doesn't it bring back memories of the good old days? Jennifer will guest star on the second season premiere on September 22 on ABC. For more dates on when your favourite shows are returning, please remember to check out our "New Fall TV premiere dates" post. Will you be watching?

Trailer for new Katie Holmes movie "The Romantics"

It seems that Katie Holmes has finally decided to return to her acting, and this project may be the perfect fit for her! With a great cast that include stars like Anna Paquin or Elijah Wood and an interesting premise, this film is something i'm definitely interested in watching. Check out the trailer for "The Romantics" below!

Tune of the week: Bruno Mars "Just the way you are" + video!

I'm definitely looking forward to more music from newcomer Bruno Mars. He was recently featured in Travis Mccoy's hit "Billionarie" and "Just the way you are" is peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Believe me when I say, we'll be hearing a lot more from this guy in the future. In the meantime, check out the video for the first single of his debut album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" which is being released next October. I love the idea of using old school cassette tapes for the romantic concept of the song!

Just enter Grey's Anatomy Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/GreysAnatomy) and choose from all six posters the one you love the most. I've already chosen mine! It seems the show is back to form and this season will kick off with the consequences of May's dramatic finale episode. Are you excited to know what the outcome will be?
