"Black Out The Sun is a song about not wanting to be in a world without love.  The idea that you could simply switch the sun off and the ground would turn to poison because all the things that made it beautiful were really in the reflection of the eyes of the person you've lost.  I had this idea to show my demons depicted almost like human crows -  jackals stalking my every step, waiting for me to lose hope and give up.  But I never would".

First Look at Leonardo DiCaprio as J.Edgard Hoover

In what will surely become one of his most rewarding roles ever, Leonardo DiCaprio portrays FBI founder J. Edgard Hoover in an upcoming film about the life of such enigmatic character, directed by Clint Eastwood.

The first pictures of the film have surfaced (courtesy of EW), and DiCaprio appears to be loving the advantages of playing such an interesting and conflicted person:

“I think that he was always an outsider. I think that’s what this story is about, how he sort of lost touch towards the end of his life, to say the least."

The film will follow Hoover´s journey since his early years and how he build up the FBI making it the power entity that it is today.

Director Clint Eastwood describes him:

“Here’s this guy starting the Bureau of Investigation, which later became the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and then goes on to stay for 48 years through eight presidents. Of course nobody could fire him, because he had something on everybody.”

Of course, one of the most controversial issues of Hoover´s life, his rumoured homosexual relationship with Associate FBI Director Clyde Tolson (played by Armie Hammer, pictured above), will also be portrayed on the upcoming film.

Clint Eastwood reflects on this particular issue:

“Some people might interpret it that way. Some people might say [he and Tolson] were just inseparable pals. Or maybe it’s a love story without being gay, I don’t know. But it’s very interesting, the way Lance laid out the script. It was nicely written. It didn’t go to the obvious.”

Obvious or not, it is pretty easy to see why DiCaprio is probably going to win a string of awards and nominations for this career-defining role next year.

Chris Colfer reveals how he has become a fashion expert thanks to playing Kurt:

"When Glee started, I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was. In no way was I a fashion person! I did all my shopping at my small-town Target. Maybe if I dressed better I wouldn’t have had such a hard time in school. Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce.”

Lea Michele, on the other hand, was apparently already interested in the fashion aspect of celebrity before becoming one.

 Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, explains:

“When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes—but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”

Joe Manganiello: "I was depressed after 'Superman' loss"

Joe Manganiello has recently revealed that he had a hard time coping with the fact that he lost the opportunity to play Superman in Zack Snyder´s upcoming reboot, Man of Steel.

The True Blood star told Digital Spy:

"[Warner Bros] wanted me to screen test and part of the screen test process is that they actually have to settle your deal, as if you were cast going into a screen before you get the screen test.

And so that involved settling of shooting schedule and the dates for shooting Superman would have conflicted with 11 weeks of season five [of True Blood].

And as it turns out they had big plans for my character in season five and they were not willing to share me with Superman. So regrettably I never got to screen test and I never got to compete for the role. I never got to put on the suit."

Manganiello added how frustrated he felt that he did not get to try out for the dreamed role:

"This was back in January. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't... I was really, severely depressed for a few months. For a few months afterwards.

Because I really thought the direction they were taking the movie and the character, I really thought I had a great idea where to take that and I was very excited and I just wanted to try out my ideas and things. But, you know, it just wasn't meant to be."

Do you believe Manganiello would have been a good choice to play Superman?

'Terra Nova' Covers The Hollywood Reporter

Fox´s Terra Nova is one of the most anticipated scripted shows of the fall and this is part of the reason it has made its way on the cover of the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

For those of you who don´t already know, the show is set in the year 2149, and it follows the story of the Shannon family who travel back 85 million years in time to join a prehistoric Earth colony.

Plus, it doesn´t hurt that the executive producer of the series is none other than Steven Spielberg.

The magazine covers some inside info about the show which you might find interesting.

 On Steven Spielberg´s casting decisions:

Spielberg knew from the very beginning that his first choice on who he wanted to play paramilitary guy Nathaniel Taylor (the first man to travel to Terra Nova) was Avatar´s Stephen Lang.

Other details and twists such as the oxygen masks that people wear in the future and the effects of the oxygen-rich Terra Nova on the settlers once they arrive, also came from the director of Jaws.

On the differences between the dinosaurs of Terra Nova & Jurassic Park:

The dinos of Terra Nova differ in period from the one´s featured in Spielberg´s blockbuster classic. For one, these are from the Cretaceous period, 85 million years in the past.

The pilot will feature a Brachiosuarus and a Carnotaurus but there will be no sign of the T-rex for the time being.

The reason behind this decision is that Spielberg didn´t want people to relate the new show to his film in the sense that both feature dinosaurs and have his name attached to it.

Terra Nova is an expensive show:

The two-hour debut episode alone has a price tag between $10 million and $20 million. Fox has picked up a 13-episode order.

"We are in the big-bet business. So if you're looking to break through and garner a big share of a fractured audience, and it is going to be costly regardless, you take the most exciting shots you can for your audience." Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly explained.

On why Spielberg rejected Hawaii:

When decisions about what location was going to be used to shoot the series, Spielberg made it clear that Hawaii was not an option.

Not that the director has anything against it, it just happens that once again he feared the inevitable comparisons will become bigger if they shot on the same location where Jurassic Park was filmed.

After Louisiana, New Zealand and Florida were dismissed, Australia became the perfect choice.

Michael Patrick King Rejects 'Sex and the City' Prequel

Sex and the City fans can rest now as, Michael Patrick King, the man who helmed both the TV series and the feature films has denied any interest in adapting the prequels based on the novels by Candance Bushnell.

There has been many rumours swirling around lately that instead of continuing the story, the next film would be based on Carrie Bradshaw´s younger self.

Michael Patrick King was quick to clear up the rumours during the Television Critics Association press tour on Wednesday.:

"I'm not working on any Sex and the City prequel. My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33, and I took her to 43. I didn't even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw's parents were  because I thought she only existed in Manhattan. So for me, the idea of going backwards and making her less evolved ... is something that I don't imagine doing."

Personally, we couldn´t agree more with him, although we would love to see another sequel based on the adult Carrie Bradshaw.

What do you guys think? Would you prefer a prequel or a sequel to Sex and the City?

Henry Cavill Talks Superman

As the new face of Superman, Henry Cavill knows his days as an unknown actor are over and that the expectations for his performance on Man of Steel are pretty high.

Just recently he commented with Total Film on his experience so far playing the iconic character:

“I’m on 5000 calories a day… You’ve got to eat protein first, then a little bit of carbs…you’ve gotta keep your hunger levels going. I’m training two and a half hours a day, pushing my body beyond its normal limits, putting on a lot of muscle mass and just making myself look like Superman.”

Cavill also took the time to reflect on what it was like to put on the Superman costume for the very first time:

“It’s extremely cool. There’s no other feeling like it. […] They just put it on, I turned around and look in the mirror and you can’t really play it cool – you sort of guffaw and laugh. I thought ‘OK, holy hell, this is real, it’s not a joke anymore. This is it…you’re doing it, you’re right in the middle of it.’”

Do you believe Cavill will make a good Superman?

First Look at 'American Horror Story'

The first pictures for the new FX show, American Horror Story, have surfaced.

For those of you late bloomers who don´t know what this upcoming show is about, let´s do some explaining.

Way before Glee became a worldwide hit, creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk were already popular for producing a certain show called Nip/Tuck, which was pretty much the opposite of the singing and dancing extravanga that Glee is.

This new show, American Horror Story, marks a return to form for Murphy and Falchuk who are now introducing themselves in the horror genre for television.

This new TV series tells the story of the Harmons, a family with a dark past that buys a big, old (and yes, haunted) house in Los Angeles where a series of murders have occured in the past.

The horror thriller stars Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton, The Practice‘s Dylan McDermott, Six Feet Under´s Frances Comroy and Oscar-winner Jessica Lange to name a few.

Critics who have watched the show have had very positive reactions so far.

American Horror Story premieres on October 5 on FX.

Are you curious to give it a try?

Alexander Skarsgard Visits Regis & Kelly

One of the most admired actors of TV nowadays, Alexander Skarsgard, dropped by Regis & Kelly to speak about his work, growing up as an actor and his experiences filming True Blood.

Katy Perry Breaks US Chart Records

Katy Perry has many reasons to feel happy right now.

The I Kissed a Girl singer has become the first artist in 19 years to achieve five number one pop song entries from the same album.

These singles (California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T. and Last Friday Night) are all taken from her second studio album, Teenage Dream.

However, Perry´s real deal will happen if she wins her consecutive fifth hot 100 number one single from her album with Last Friday Night (which is currently at number two).

If she does, she will match none other than Michael Jackson´s Bad, which is currently the only album in history to produce five number one singles.

Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Separation

Jennifer Lopez has opened up for the very first time to Vanity Fair about ending her seven year marriage to Marc Anthony.

Lopez describes the reasons behind her decision to separate in the upcoming September issue of the publication:

"It’s not that I didn't love myself before. Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself – if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now. "

Still, she claims to hold a special place in her heart for her soon to be ex-husband and father of her children, and remains optimistic about love:

"Sometimes it doesn’t work – and that's sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love. I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."
