Evans describes his character as "the ideal human, not just American. It’s what being a good person is. Steve’s managed to overcome all the shortcomings he’s had in life and he does what’s good and what he believes is right.”

Charice Comes Back To 'Glee'

Fans of Glee may recall singer Charice, as she appeared on the second season premiere of the show where she played a foreign exchange student named Sunshine.

Finally, there is some good news regarding her return to the series, as Glee star Harry Shum Jr. has promised that we will see Charice reprise her role later on in the season.

Shum confirmed the news to HollywoodLife : "I talked to some of the writers and they were saying that she's going to come back to fulfil her storyline," he said. "I think that she will come back in the future in the second season."

Even though there were rumours suggesting that the singer would make an appearance on the upcoming Super Bowl episode, there is still no official confirmation from Fox.

Are you anxious to see Charice back on Glee?

William Petersen Returns To 'CSI'

When William Petersen left CSI in January 2009, he and the producers agreed that the character would eventually return ocasionally. According to EW, his awaited return is right around the corner as Petersen already shot his cameo for an upcoming episode which involves his on-screen wife, Sara (Jorja Fox). According to TV Line, his appearance could air as soon as this week.

As far as the storyline is concerned, Grissom´s return goes back to a story arc that begun in the first season of the show with the episode "Sound of Silence", when audiences learned that Gil can sign because he grew up with a deaf mother.

Are you excited for the return of Petersen to one of his most memorable roles?

Susan Sarandon: 'I Would Have Appeared On Glee'

Susan Sarandon has stated that, contrary to reports that suggested otherwise, she was not contacted to appear on Glee´s tribute episode to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The actress, who played Janet in the original film, said to Eonline: "What I saw I thought was so fabulous. I thought it was so moving. They [people] kept asking if I was going to be on the episode, but nobody spoke to me about doing anything on the show."

Rumours are swirling around that Glee creator Ryan Murphy may be contemplating the idea of remaking the 70´s cult musical, but Sarandon believes it should be very different from the original project.

"If they did it completely different in like 3D or something, because you cannot do it anywhere near the way it was at that time with those people." Sarandon explained.

It is a shame that she did not receive a call to participate on Rocky Horror´s tribute. Maybe Ryan Murphy could call her for a cameo in a future episode?

Henry Cavill Is The New Face Of Superman

It´s the beginning of a new era! Warner Bros Pictures has oficially announced today that actor Henry Cavill ("Stardust", "The Tudors") will portray Superman in the upcoming film directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan.

Apparently, this is not the first time that the actor tries for the role of Clark Kent, as he was very close to scoring the part back when "Superman Returns" had McG attached as director, and before Bryan Singer took over, casting Brandon Routh instead.

The official press release reads as follows:

"Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Henry Cavill has won the coveted role of Superman, the iconic superhero.

The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, who stated, “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”

The new Superman film is set for a December 2012 release.

I personally believe that they made the right decision by sticking to an actor that is not widely known but clearly looks the part.

What do you guys think? Have the producers made the right casting choice? Sound off in the comments!

New Zombie Drama For The CW

The CW is currently developing a new drama series that deals with the popular theme of a zombie apocalypse.

According to TV Guide, the network is working on producing Awakening, a script written by William Laurin and Glenn Davis, which follows two rival sisters as they struggle to survive in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse.

The CW is not the only network trying to cash in on the zombie fever, as NBC has bought the rights to produce a pilot based on the script Zombies Vs. Vampires.

After the amazing success of AMC´s The Walking Dead, television networks have realized how zombies are the new vampires as far as ratings go, and the CW and NBC are no exceptions.

Do you believe that this new zombie trend will last long? Let me know in the comments!

Ridley Scott´s 'Prometheus' Will Have A Link To Alien Franchise

Just recently, director Ridley Scott announced that the Alien prequel he was set to direct and penned by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof, had taken a life of its own and will now be conceived as an original project named Prometheus.

However, according to Sky Movies, Prometheus will still have a storyline that ties in directly with the Alien franchise, and this will include the popular H.R. Giger designed creatures. Giger has been previously linked to being involved in the prequel so the possibility of him being involved in this new project is strong.

Sources say that "despite that press release that seemed to indicate there were no aliens in the movie, the familiar H.R. Giger-style aliens do appear. Big ones apparently. They've built the 'space jockey' cockpit at Pinewood as seen in the original Alien film, so it definitely takes place in the same world as Alien "

Insiders also confirm that the plot centres around a space crew and the discovery of alien DNA on an archeological expedition, which will eventually lead them to an alien world.

Rumours also state that the film is said to involve "biochemical technology" and the spacecraft may be piloted by a giant CGI head.

The release date for Prometheus is June 8, 2012. Are you happy with Scott´s return to the science fiction genre?

Meet The Possible New Charlie´s Angels

Negotiations are underway to cast the two remaining spots for the main actresses that will play Charlie´s Angels along with Annie Ilonzeh who is already locked to play one of the three main roles.

According to Deadline, the most popular female trio of television could also include Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) and aussie actress-model, Rachael Taylor.

Apparently, after an extensive search, the name of Minka Kelly kept coming back to the producers, whose character and name is now being reworked after her. The character was previously described as Marisa, a former U.S. Marine and weapons expert trained in all forms of hand-to-head combat and a neat freak.

Rachael Taylor would play Abby, the youngest of the angels and daughter of a notorious Wall Street crook who is an expert con artist herself as well as a Krav Maga expert.

As far as Charlie Towsend is concerned, Robert Wagner will voice the character in this new incarnation for television.

The show which is set in Miami, will be penned by Milles Millar & Alfred Gough (Smallville) and produced by Drew Barrymore, who also played one of the three main characters on the big screen adaptation of the original series.

Are you happy with the casting choices for the new show? Sound off in the comments!

Details On Sarah Michelle Gellar´s CBS Pilot

Not long ago, we brought you news of the possible return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to regular series television. Now, more details of the pilot have emerged as Entertainment Weekly has sat down with Peter Traugott, the pilot’s producer, and got him to reveal more about the show´s premise. Here´s what he had to share:

On what the show is about: “It’s an edgy thriller about redemption and about revenge. There’s a point of view of two twin sisters who grew apart over a tragedy in their past. And one now seeks redemption and the other one seeks revenge. The sister who is seeking redemption has had a much more troubled life. When her fancy pants sister disappears, she takes over her life. She’s living the life of her more successful sister only to come to find out that her life is equally as fraught with danger and complication. Her sister dies in a boating accident. The other sister takes on her persona, only to come to find out that they have a hit out on her.”

On how Gellar was convinced to return to Network TV: Sarah had started thinking about coming back to TV a couple of years ago and she really wanted it to be something in cable, in part just because of the subject matter you’re able to do in cable. But network television now has cracked that door a little bit and they’ve obviously been doing great stuff in network—and great stuff in cable. Both places are great. And this was a spec script that we had found and my colleague, Rachel Kaplan, had found by these young writers [Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder of The CW's Supernatural] and we flipped for it. Sarah’s manager got it to her, and she fell in love with the piece, too. When CBS read this thing and flipped for it and loved Sarah for it, that kind of started her thinking about being more open-minded to doing network because of the subject matter and this piece that she was so excited about.”

On how Buffy fans will be pleased with this role: “For the Buffy fans, she wanted part of what she initiated. As a matter of fact, her and her manager know this, but I know one thing she wanted to guard against was making sure that she whatever she does in TV, she does something that her fans who had grown up loving Buffy will also be excited about. And we think this show has that quality to it. It’s a very different show. I mean, Buffy is so specific and a great, cool genre piece.

But in the same way with Sarah, I think what’s remarkable about her as an actor—and very few people have this ability—she can play both sides well. If you remember Cruel Intentions, she was the villain, but you found yourself kind of rooting for her anyway. That’s what we’re looking for. How do we find something where her character has some edge, there’s some darkness to her, she doesn’t always do the right thing, but at the end of the day, you’re also rooting for her? And that’s what we were looking for in this. Obviously, Buffy was a hero, a kick-ass hero, and we wanted to be true to that with Sarah.”

Sounds interesting. Let´s hope CBS picks up the pilot so that we get the chance to see Gellar again on our TV sets!

Hans Zimmer Comments On Nolan´s Oscar Snub

Composer Hans Zimmer recently admitted to Billboard he was shocked by the fact that Christopher Nolan has not received a nomination for directing Inception. Nolan was recognised in the best 'Original Screenplay' category, and even though Zimmer himself picked up an 'Original Score' nod, he considered the moment "bittersweet" for not being able to share it with his peers.

He explained: "I cannot believe it. I just think it's amazing. How could they leave those two guys out? The film really was different, and it really was a different vision.

Everybody's always harping on, 'Can we do something new that's successful?' Well, he did something new that was immensely successful. I think... a little something creeps in that if it is successful, it suddenly can't be judged as art anymore."

He added: "I've always had a somewhat complicated, shall we say, relationship with the Oscars. In a funny way, the Oscars do mean something because it is your peers, you know? And you want all of that to stay relevant and current, so you don't want them to make too many missteps."

What do you say? Was it really fair? Who else do you believe was snubbed from the nominations? Sound off in the comments!

Chris Hemsworth: 'Whedon´s script for Avengers is huge'

Actor Chris Hemsworth has recently spoken to MTV News about the highly anticipated Avengers movie which has been penned by Joss Whedon (who will also direct), and has revealed that the script is "huge".

Hemsworth, who plays Thor, expressed his excitement after reading the screeenplay which features many of the Marvel comic book superheroes: "Everything about the story and the comic books is huge. You have these huge, big superheroes and huge, big egos crammed into one small space.

He explained: "Reading the script, it was massive. Everything about it was like, 'Oh my god.' I said to Joss [Whedon, the director], I said, 'I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing [laughs], but I'm excited to be onboard and let's give it a go'."

Hemsworth, whose own film about Thor opens in cinemas on May 6, also spoke about the rumours that actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in The Avengers, will make a cameo appearance in Thor.

"I don't know if he's in Thor. I haven't seen the cut yet, and he wasn't on set when I was there, but he may be in the final one," Hemsworth declared. "He's certainly in The Avengers. I had a chat with him at Comic-Con and he's as excited as the rest of us."

Considering how good and unpredictable Whedon`s scripts are, I´m definitely counting the days for the Avengers in 2012. In the meantime, what other superhero movies are you anxious about?

Amy Winehouse Records Duet With Cee Lo Green

Amy Winehouse has reportedly recorded a duet with Cee Lo Green, according to reports by the Daily Star. They both met while holidaying in St Lucia and laid down the track. Sources state that "her voice is as good as ever. She might look frail when you see her but don't be deceived, the voice is still there."

Apparently the pair had amazing chemistry while working together: "Amy has a house in St Lucia and decided to fly out. She and Cee Lo just clicked and he said he wouldn't leave the island until the track was done."

No word yet on when Winehouse will release this new music but work on her new album seems to be completed: "Amy's album is entirely finished, so it's just a case of the record company deciding when to release it."

In my opinion, I couldn´t think of a better fit for a duet with Winehouse than Cee Lo Green. I´m sure they will create magic together.

Are you looking forward to the return of Amy Winehouse? Hit the comments!

Kelly Osbourne Is The New Face Of Material Girl

Taylor Momsen will no longer be the face of Material Girl, the clothing line branded by Madonna and designed by her daughter Lourdes. The singer has been quick to find a replacement and she has chosen Kelly Osbourne to front her junior fashion line.

According to The Mirror, a close friend of the star has stated how much the queen of pop´s daughter admires Kelly as an artist: “Kelly’s always been a massive fan of Madonna and recently heard Lourdes idolised her, which she was very flattered by. It’s a huge coup.”

Do you believe that the brand will benefit from this change?

Steven Spielberg Produces New Musical TV Series

The fact that Glee is an international hit has not been ignored by TV executives who are looking for a way to cash in on the sudden musical mania that has been going on everywhere.

This is partly the reason why NBC recently announced that they are ordering a musical drama pilot called Smash which is based on an idea from none other than Steven Spielberg. The script, written by playwright Theresa Rebeck, tells the story of a group of characters who come together for the “exhilarating ride of putting on a Broadway musical,” NBC says.

The series will feature original songs written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who penned the original Hairspray musical, while talks are in progress to convince Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) to direct.

I must say that this project would seem completely unnecessary if it wasn´t for the fact that the people involved in it are really amazingly talented. I say if they cast an excellent group of actors, show us an original good story and stay away from the shadow of Glee, then this series might get the chance to have a life of its own.

 What do you think?

NBC Pîcks Up Wonder Woman Pilot

Finally, some good news regarding Wonder Woman! Contrary to what was said in the press weeks ago, THR confirms that NBC has picked up David E. Kelley's version of Wonder Woman to pilot. Apparently, NBC and the other television networks first passed on the project due to budgetary reasons but, last month, Kelley hinted that the show might finally get a chance to land on the small screen as soon as next year.

"I think the likelihood is we'll see it next year. I'm being optimistic but I don't think I'm being unrealistic." he told THR in mid-January. He also hinted that NBC would be a perfect fit for the series.

"I like to think of it as a smart script and I know [new NBC programming chief Bob Greenblatt] responds to smart material." He added that the character will not only be a superhero but a "real complex woman".

Now, let´s just hope it gets picked up as a proper TV series!

Clint Eastwood Directs Musical Remake With Beyoncé

Clint Eastwood is set to direct Beyoncé Knowles in a new version of the musical A Star Is Born. According to Deadline, Eastwood will direct from a script by Will Fetters (Remember Me) and filming will begin this autumn in what will be the fourth incarnation of the film.

The latest version of this movie was shot in 1976 with Barbra Streisand as the main lead, a project which earned her a best original song Oscar. There are also rumors that point to Will Smith being targeted by Warner Brothers for a role in the movie as well.

Personally, I´m not very fond of remakes but if Eastwood is involved it might translate into a good movie in the end. What do you think?

Rumor: The CW Cancels Life Unexpected, Renews Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl & 90210

According to The Voice of TV, insiders confirm that the CW has canceled fan favourite Life Unexpected, but will bring back hit series 90210, Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries for another season. The same source states that veteran shows like Smallville and One Tree Hill won´t return with new episodes next year.

There is no word yet on what will happen to America’s Next Top Model, Hellcats, Nikita and Supernatural. There will not be an official announcement from the network of what shows will return until the upfronts in May.

Personally, I'm really sad to see that Life Unexpected is probably getting the axe. Shows like One Tree Hill and Smallville have had a good run but LUX has a very loyal fan base and it deserves better than just two seasons.

Is anybody else with me on this?

Bruno Mars eyes Alicia Keys collaboration

Bruno Mars was recently asked what artists he would like to collaborate with in the future and the singer admitted to feeling an admiration for Alicia Keys.

During an interview with Kiss FM, the Grenade singer said: "I always say I wanna work with Alicia Keys. I'm in awe of her. I'm a big fan of her: how she carries herself, her great music and her artistry."

Mars wasn´t going to limit himself at one particular musical genre, so he mentioned a varied list of artists as well whom he wishes to do music with. He explained: "I'd love to get in with Jack White, of course Kanye West, and Kings Of Leon - that would be fun! I'm a big fan of the UK's Jessie J and The Saturdays too."

The singer definitely started 2011 on a high note with seven Grammy Award nominations, scoring his second number one hit single, and was named the best songwriter of 2010 by Musicweek. Just recently, it has been confirmed that Mars will perform live at the upcoming 53rd annual Grammy Awards.

I´m sure he won´t have any problems convincing any of those artists to work with him anytime soon! Who would you rather see Bruno work with on a future release?

Sarah Michelle Gellar Returns to TV!

It's been 8 years (!!!) since Buffy the Vampire Slayer wrapped and, since then, Sarah Michelle Gellar has commited full time to the big screen. Now the Scooby Doo star is ready for a comeback to TV as the star of a drama titled Ringer, for CBS.

According to Deadline, the premise of the pilot revolves around a young woman on the run from the mob. While on the run, she inhabits the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns that her twin’s life has a bounty on it as well.

Gellar has been heavily pursued by the broadcast networks since then end of the Buffy days, but her only TV work was a pilot for HBO called The Wonderful Maladys which was never picked up.

Personally, I would love to see Sarah return to TV (it`s been a really long time) but she deserves better than this. I would rather watch her star in the new Charlie's Angels for ABC as she needs a big budget show where she can kick some ass as well as showcase her comedic and dramatic skills.

What do you say? Does the premise of Ringer sound good to you? Are you happy to see Gellar return to TV?

Colin Firth Receives Hollywood Star

Actor Colin Firth is the 2,429th person to have a star in the popular walk of fame and was certainly moved at the unveiling. In a year were he has either been nominated or has won every possible award for his performance in The King's Speech, the actor dedicated such special moment to his wife.

'I want to thank everybody that has accompanied me on this extraordinary journey, but probably more than anybody I could ever imagine Livia who has walked every step of this with me joyfully and truthfully. When I look down there at that star, it's her name I see.'

The English actor's star is located outside the Pig N' Whistle pub, next to fellow Brit Emma Thompson's.

Congrats for the truly deserved recognition! Now let's go for that Oscar nomination, shall we?
