"Revenge" to end after season four

It´s official. ABC´s show "Revenge" will officially end its run after season four is over. According to EW the series finale titled "Two Graves" will air on Sunday, May 10, at 10 p.m. ET.

Executive producer Sunil Nayar confirmed the news:

“We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story. We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale—which is fabulous—everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks.”

The show, which premiered strong back in 2011 saw a decline in ratings for its second season. Surprisingly enough after creator Mike Kelley left, "Revenge" made it possible to recover both creatively and ratings wise. The last two seasons have been incredibly exciting and unexpected which is why fans where fearing that the end was near. Showrunners seems to believe that the quality of the stories should come first and concluding it with a big finish is the way to go.

“We certainly had a pitch of how the show could go on, but this is why I feel so grateful to the studio and the network because they also erred on the side of creativity,” Nayar says. “The show is still popular, it’s loved worldwide. I can see why all the arguments from even an economic standpoint to maybe keep it going, but at the end of the day—kind of like they had with Lost—they support creativity above all. They really got the sense with us as their partners that we all came up with a great way to end these stories.”

Apparently according to Nayar the finale will be one of epic proportions with enough twists and turns to keep everyone satisfied: “There are really shocking things that happen in the finale. It’s a tricky thing because the fans are such passionate lovers of the show and we really want to give them what they want, but the hard part about a finale in a show like this is you want to give them some of what they want, some of what they don’t know they want yet and some of what they never expected, and it needs to be a perfect mix of all those things. I truly believe our finale is the perfect mix of all those three things. I think they’re going to be extremely satisfied.”

Top five reasons why you should be watching "Secrets and Lies"

Midseason programming usually has the unfair reputation of not exactly bringing the best quality television shows. However, there is one new show that might have not fallen under your radar and  here at Radio Pop Action we want to make sure that you correct that mistake while you still can.

"Secrets and Lies" is a show about Ben Crawford (Ryan Phillippe), a family man who finds the body of a six-year-old neighbour while going out for a morning jog. After detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) is assigned the case, he becomes the main suspect and his nice suburban life starts to unravel revealing secrets and lies surrounding his life and those around him.

Here are the five main reasons why should be watching:

1. Ryan Phillipe. Not only has he gotten better with age and still looks amazing without his T-shirt on but he carries the weight of the show on his shoulders inmensely well. His acting is one that will leave you guessing and doubting whether he´s innocent or guilty. You can really feel his anxiety and the pressure of a man who´s life has been turned upside down.

2. Juliette Lewis is seriously out of her comfort zone with this character. Detective Cornell is such a challenge as a character and a big departure from anything Lewis has ever done before. An intense and complex personality you will surely love to hate.

 3. The mystery will be resolved at the end of the 10 episode first season. This isn´t a show that will drag on forever without giving you any real answers. Each season would have its own crime to solve and this pushes the story further, similar to what happens with cable television shows.

4. It is based on an Australian TV series of the same name which was acclaimed and praised by critics and audiences for its acting, writing and direction.

5. It is filmed in Wilmington (North Carolina), home for shows such as Dawson´s Creek, Under the Dome or One Tree Hill. A different environment from which the series benefits from, as you sense the feeling of apparently safe family neighborhood where all these characters live.

Aren´t you convinced yet? "Secrets and Lies" airs sundays on ABC.

Lucy Lawless and Lynda Carter pose together

It´s a geek´s dream come true! Xena the warrior princess and Wonder Woman have met and everything´s alright in the world. Lucy Lawless and Lynda Carter met at New York City while promoting their respective proyects (Lawless appears on WGN America's Salem while Carter is playing a jazz concert) and both women seemed happy in each other´s presence.

Both of them have portrayed strong female characters on television and have often been compared for their popular roles. Lawless played Xena for six seasons (1995-2001) while Carter played the amazon princess from 1975-1979.

Michelle MacLaren drops out as director of "Wonder Woman"

"Wonder Woman" is sure proving itself to be a difficult proyect to get adapted for the big screen. After many different approaches and many directors ( even Joss Whedon attempted to pen a script at one point) the amazon superhero has lost another director once again.

Michelle MacLaren who was recruited by Warner Bros to helm the latest comic adaptation has split from the studio over "creative differences".

A studio representative issued the following statement:

“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together”

At this point speculation has begun as to what could have made both parties part ways. The film needs to find a new director as soon as possible as it is still set for a 2017 release.

Do you believe Wonder Woman has proven impossible to adapt to our time period?

First four new episodes of "Game of Thrones" leak

It was bound to happen. The expectation for "Game of Thrones" was increasing by the minute and now the first four new episodes of season 5 have premiered ilegally on the internet torrent sites.

These episodes were made available on saturday night, a day before the official premiere on HBO. This is not the first time something similar has happened, as it is considered the most popular ilegally downloaded show worldwide.

The four leaked episodes were most likely sent as a preview for critics and are shown in 480p instead of the quality shown when broadcasted through HBO, which is usually in 720p or 1080p. This will probably make it very difficult for fans to avoid any spoilers for the show and apparently more leaks could be on the way... so beware if you want to be surprised!

Have you already seen the four new leaked episodes? Will you wait to watch it as originally planned by HBO? Sound off in the comments!

"Younger" TV Series Review

I´ll start by stating something obvious. TV isn´t always easy. With more and more new scripted shows getting launched every season, its becoming increasingly difficult to choose which ones we should keep watching and which ones we should kick to the curb.

This is why when something fresh comes our way such as TV Land´s brand new TV series "Younger" we don´t hesitate in recommending it. Lets begin with two simple words: Darren Star. The man is not only responsible for some of the greatest and most iconic moments in television history (hello "90210" and "Sex & the City) but he has the ability to write incredibly witty dialogue while showcasing the complexities of the characters he creates.

Without spoiling too much, lets just put it this way: It is very satisfying to watch a show which pays attention to 40-year-old single women. The story of Liza Miller, a recent divorcee who throws herself back in the trenches of the publishing business competing against a younger generation by pretending she´s a 20 year old may not seem the most original plotline, but it sure as hell makes for one entertaining show. Add a very talented cast to the mix led by a magnificent and charming Sutton Foster, followed by the ridiculously handsome Nico Tortorella and you get 20 minutes of funny and addictive television.

So just give it a try, watch for yourself and then come back here to give us your feedback.

What do you guys think of "Younger"?

Joe And Anthony Russo will direct Avengers: Infinity War

It was something that was predicted months ago but now Marvel has confirmed the news. Joe And Anthony Russo are set to direct the upcoming sequels, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. Joss Whedon has stated many times before that although he has loved helming both Avengers movies, the experience has left him exhausted and he wants to explore other projects of his own.

No word yet on who will write the scripts for the next installments which will premiere on April 27, 2018 and April 26, 2019. Before that, the Russos will shoot Captain America: Civil War which will arrive on cinemas on April 29 next year.

Whedon, on the other hand, has also confirmed that there won’t be a post-credits scene in Ultron:

“There is nothing at the very end. And that’s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don’t sit there for 10 minutes and then go: ‘Son of a bitch! I’ll kill them!’

The director explained the reasons behind this decision:

“It didn’t seem to lend itself in the same way, and we wanted to be true to what felt right. The first rule of making a sequel is take the best moments and do something else. Don’t do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don’t try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it.”

Are you looking forward to future Avengers movies?

Nina Dobrev Exits "The Vampire Diaries"

We´re completed shocked by this piece of news! In an unexpected turn of events, actress Nina Dobrev has announced on her instagram account that she will not be returning to "The Vampire Diaries" for a seventh season.

The show´s main lead released the following statement:

Dearest TVD Family,

I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party. I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there's still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever.

There's more to come before we wrap this up, and I promise you'll get to hear all about my experiences over the next month as we approach the season finale (I have given an exclusive interview for the June issue of SELF Magazine that I am excited for you to see!), but until then I invite you to hop on the roller coaster ride that is Elena Gilbert's life and join me as I celebrate her and prepare to say goodbye to her -- and to my work family -- as I move on to the next chapter of my life. I want to share this goodbye with all of you (this weekend's pictures were just the beginning). You, the wonderful fandom who gave more love, support and passion than anyone could have ever imagined seven years ago, when a young Degrassi girl from Canada showed up in LA to audition for 'that Twilight TV show.' ;-) I love you all. Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what's coming, you don't.

Love, Nina

This has certainly been a year of loss at the CW show with actors such as Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy), Marguerite MacIntyre's Sheriff Forbes and now possibly Michael Trevino (Tyler) exiting.

Executive producer Julie Plec also expressed her sadness over Dobrev´s departure:

"Saying goodbye to Nina is both bittersweet and beautiful. After six-plus years together, the entire cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries has reached a level of closeness that I don’t think any of us ever expected," Plec said in a statement. "Nina is excited to spread her wings, get some rest, travel the world and also take it by storm, and we support her a thousand-fold. We will miss Nina and the 400 characters she played, but we look forward to the insane and exciting challenge of continuing to tell stories of our Salvatore Brothers and our much-loved and gifted ensemble."

Do you believe that the show should move on without its main female lead? Or is it time to put it to rest? Are you sad to see Nina Dobrev go? Sound off in the comments!

Madonna on the cover of Cosmopolitan´s 50th Anniversary Issue

Madonna graces the cover of Cosmopolitan´s 50th Anniversary Issue and she looks as fierce as ever! The queen of pop has been on heavy promotion for the release of her latest album, Rebel Heart. The 56 year old entertainer was photographed by Ellen von Unwerth back in December and spoke with the magazine about issues such as ageism, her career and internet haters.

Here are some excerpts on her views about ageism:

“Don’t be fooled, not much has changed – certainly not for women. We still live in a very sexist society that wants to limit people. Since I started, I’ve had people giving me a hard time because they didn’t think you could be sexual or have sexuality or sensuality in your work and be intelligent at the same time. For me, the fight has never ended.”

On her collaboration with Kanye West:

"It's a little bit of a bullfight, but we take turns. He knows that he's walking into a room with a person with a strong point of view, and I do too. I listen to what he has to say, take it in, and he listens to what I say and takes it in. We didn't agree on everything, but he has good ideas."

David Lynch quits "Twin Peaks" Showtime revival

Apparently things are not looking good for the "Twin Peaks" revival that Showtime was planning for 2016. After rumours started swirling around that negotiations were not going as swell as hoped between the network and David Lynch, the co-creator and director has confirmed in a letter to the Twin Peaks festival fan page that he will not be returning as director.

The letter reads:
“Dear Facebook Friends, David wanted me to pass along the following statement:
Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks.
After one year and four months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.
This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing.
Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime.
I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.”
Some sources even say that Showtime has pulled the plug on the show entirely and cast members have already been informed. However the only official confirmation at the moment is that Lynch is apparently done with the project.

Could these complications mean the end for the show´s awaited resurrection? Would you watch a Twin Peaks revival without David Lynch´s involvement? Sound off in the comments!
