Kristin Davis is rooting for "Sex and the city 3"

Kristin Davis has recently stated that she is still interested in reprising her role of Charlotte in a third installment of "Sex and the City" for the big screen, although there are no concrete plans as of yet.

"As far as I know, we have no script for the third," Davis said of the possibility. "But I would never say never, we'd be thrilled if it happened."

Davis isn't the only one hopeful for a third movie, just recently co-star Sarah Jessica Parker stated that the franchise was still very much alive and that the idea of a new sequel was not completely ruled out. However, this contradicts Chris Noth's claims that "the press killed it" after the sequel received a series of lukewarm reviews.

Are you still up for more "Sex and the City"?

"Practical Magic" TV show on the works

Brace yourselves because another movie is about to be adapted to TV! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros is planning a television reboot of the 1998 supernatural film Practical Magic. If you recall, the film starred Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as two witch sisters who teach their children about magic.

The TV show is still in its early stages and will be developed for ABC Magic. This isn't the first time the film has been adapted for television, back in 2003 a pilot for CBS starring Kim Delaney and Jeri Ryan was not picked up.

Nelly Furtado releases new video

Nelly Furtado is back with a greatest hits record and she has released a video for her brand new song, "The Night is Young". I'm still not feeling the song though and the video looks kinda cheap. ABC moves forward with "Charlie's Angels" pilot

A remake of the popular TV show, "Charlie's Angels", was announced last november and now it seems that the project is moving forward. According to Deadline, a pilot is about to be made and it is going to be helmed by Smallville creators Miles Miller and Al Gough.

Gough and Miller will executive produce the show alongside Drew Barrymore, Nancy Juvonen and Leonard Goldman, who worked on the original television series. As you may all recall, Barrymore starred in and produced two Charlie's Angels films.  Filming for the pilot is expected to begin in Miami in January, no cast has been announced yet.

Mariah Carey confirms pregnancy!

It was about time! After months of constant rumours, singer Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she is pregnant. Mariah had to pull out of a film in June and the rumours have been crazy ever since.

"Yes, we are pregnant, this is true!" she told Access Hollywood. "It's been a long journey. It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy."

The 40-year old singer says that due to the heavy speculation she was forced to come forward with the news: "At this point, there is no choice. I either talk or I hibernate," she said.

The most shocking piece of news is that Carey also confirmed she had a miscarriage two years ago. "It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult," Carey said. "When that happened... I wasn't able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy."

Husband Nick Cannon admits that they have already the names picked up for their future baby, due in the spring. "The greatest gift on earth is a child," he said. "We’ve had names picked out from the first day we met and we want to stay true to that."

Congratulations to the happy couple! It would have been so much easier for them to confirm the news months ago, but better late than never, I guess. Will Mariah write a song about this on her next album?

"In the Heights" closes on Broadway

According to Playbill, the Tony-winning  musical "In the Heights" will play its final performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre Jan. 9, 2011, at 7 PM. When it closes, the production will have played 29 previews and 1,185 regular performances.

The farewell will include the return of original star and co-creator Lin-Manuel Miranda who will reprise his Tony-nominated role of Usnavi for the final two weeks of the Broadway run, Dec. 25-Jan. 9, 2011. "In the Heights" has had a three-year run on Broadway, and has won four 2008 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. A feature film is said to be in the works to adapt this spectacular musical to the big screen sometime in the future.

This is truly sad news. Fortunately, I got the chance to see "In the Heights" last summer and it was definitely something else. The amazing actors, the dancing, the songs and the message of the story  are definitely worth watching. For those of you who have the chance to watch this spectacular production, I recommend you to get tickets before it closes next January, you won't regret it!

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley split

After over two years dating, Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley have split. The news has been confirmed by their rep and, according to US Weekly, the split happened around mid-September. “They’re professionals,” a source close to the couple explained. “They’re still good friends and hang out on the set.”

Lets hope that they have remained good friends as they will probably have to see each other every day and possibly share romantic scenes for as long as the show is on the air.

Are you sad to see another Hollywood couple bite the dust? Let me know in the comments!

Album review: Merry Christmas 2 you - Mariah Carey

It's been 16 years since Mariah released her "Merry Christmas" album, and still today, it is one of the most successful holiday albums ever. This is part of the reason why this new record was so highly anticipated by her fans all over the world. "Merry Christmas 2 you" is a collection of classic holiday songs mixed with original compositions written by Carey herself, and it is mostly on those new songs where the record reaches its highest note.

The album starts strong, with a nice intro that leads to the uptempo and energetic first single, "Oh Santa". However this state of celebration is fleeting, as "O Little Town of Bethlehem / Little Drummer Boy" breaks the mood and turns the atmosphere into boring and predictable. "Christmas time is in the air again" is a slow and subtle jazzy tune that needs more than one listening in order to truly appreciate it, as its undeniable quality unfortunately suffers from being placed between two of the most boring tracks of the album.

The record suffers from lack of direction at times and, instead of focusing on a more classic and traditional sound, there are bits and pieces that fail to fit with the holiday atmosphere, some with better results ("When Christmas Comes") and others with awful resolutions (the final and unneccesary r&b section of "Born is the King", the futile "Here comes Santa Claus", or the Christmas disco experiment "Auld Lang Syne - The New Year’s Anthem”).

However, the album saves the best quality tracks for last, delivering a non-stop succession of poweful melodies, backing choirs and orchestral arrangements that should have been echoed in all the remaining tracks. Songs like “O Come All Ye Faithful / Hallelujah Chorus”, the new versions of "O' Holy Night" or "All I want for Christmas is you", and the best original track of the album, "One Child", reminds us why Mariah Carey has become one of the most unique voices in the music industry since the early 90's.

Overall, this is a good holiday record that can hold its own against its predecessor but will never surpass it. It suffers from a terrible misplacement as far as tracklisting goes, but has enough quality material to be considered a good Christmas gift for the listener.

Click below to listen to my favourite original track on the album, the beautiful "One Child". Will you be decorating your Christmas tree with Mariah this year?

Indiana Jones and Star Wars to be re-released in 3D!

A part of movie history is about to be retouched because, according to Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynne Hale, the six "Star Wars" movies will be re-released in 3D to cinemas in narrative order, beginning with 1999's The Phantom Menace and concluding with 1983's Return of the Jedi.

The Phantom Menace 3D is scheduled to hit theatres in 2012 but there is no release date yet for any of the other sequels. "The process is really extensive, and we want to make sure each of the films gets the attention it needs, so we're not ready to talk about the release patterns of the other films" Hale said.

On the other hand, another important franchise will also get the 3D treatment. According to website Blue Sky Disney, Lucasfilm will next month announce plans to bring its four Indiana Jones movies back to cinemas. This, of course, comes motivated after the incredible success the film "Avatar" has had at the box office worldwide.

I really think it is great that we, and the new generations as well, get the chance to see these wonderful movies all over again, specially with the "Indiana Jones" saga which has never been re-released. As far as the 3D technology is concerned, as long as it makes sense and it goes hand in hand with the plot, audiences will be happy.

What do you think? Is it neccessary to rewatch these films in 3D to appreciate them, or is it just a way for the studios to cash in on the 3D trend?

Missy Elliot is ready for a comeback

"Crazy" is the word that Missy Elliot has chosen to describe her upcoming return to the music scene. The rapper has not released a record since 2005's The Cookbook and has stated that she is currently working on ideas for her new project: "I gotta figure out this video thing and then we gonna drop it. It's gotta be a whole thing, it's a puzzle for me. It's not just the record, it's about the video too," she told MTV.

When talking about the video Elliot admits that, although there is nothing solid yet, she knows it will be "Something crazy. I'm taking my foot off this time. I don't know. Something crazy though."

Missy's new album is tentatively titled  "Block Party". Are you looking forward for the return of the rapper? Tell me all about it in the comments!

Zuckerberg and Parker object to "The Social Network" portrayal

Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has publicly stated his personal objection to the way he was portrayed in the movie based on his life, "The Social Network", claiming that his reasons for starting the site were completely misrepresented.

During an appearance at Stanford University's 'Startup School' conference, Zuckerberg said: "The thing that I think is most thematically interesting that they got wrong is... the whole framing of the movie, I'm with this girl who doesn't exist in real life who dumps me". He explained that "they frame it as if the whole reason for making Facebook and building something was because I wanted to get girls, or wanted to get into some sort of social institution."

Zuckerberg continued: "The reality for people that know me is that I've been dating the same girl since before I started Facebook so obviously that's not a part of it." However, he is quick to point out that one aspect of him was very accurate in the film: "It's interesting what stuff they focused on getting right. Every single shirt or fleece I had in that movie is actually a shirt of fleece that I own!"

Zuckemberg is not the only one showing discomfort towards the movie, Napster founder Sean Parker has claimed that Justin Timberlake's incarnation of himself in the film does not match with the reality of what really happened.

In the movie, Parker is portrayed as a ambitious party-loving person who acts as a mentor to Facebook's founder by manipulating him constantly. "It's a great performance of a character that isn't me," he told Us Weekly.

Have you seen "The Social Network"? Do you believe the film's plot is far from the truth or this is just some public relations damage control? Let me know in the comments!

Kristin Davis returns to TV!

Kristin Davis is planning her return to television as we speak, and her new show has potential! NBC has picked up "The Happiness Project ", a TV series which is based on attorney Gretchen Rubin's new memoir about one woman's quest to become truly happy. According to The Hollywood Reporter , How I Met Your Mother writer Kristin Newman is in talks to both write and produce the pilot.

This will be the first time Davis stars on a major TV role since "Sex and the City" ended in 2004. Her previous TV roles include guest starring in shows like "Friends" or "Melrose Place".

I'm really glad that someone has set eyes on Kristin's potential for a TV series of her own. After years playing Sarah Jessica Parker's sidekick on S.A.T.C., it is about time she has the opportunity to shine as well.

Are you looking forward to this project? Express yourselves in the comments below!

Michelle Trachtenberg to produce and star in CW pilot

The CW is already preparing for pilot season and has ordered a script for a new drama to be developed by Michelle Trachtenberg. According to Deadline, the show will be produced by Gossip Girl’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and will star Trachtenberg as a criminology student who has a talent of profiling and a dark past. Apparently, the premise of the project is based on an idea by Trachtenberg herself.

I guess this means she won´t become a series regular on "Gossip Girl" anytime soon. However, Michelle is too good to be just a supporting cast member, she's a talented young actress who deserves to shine in her own show. Lets just hope this project gets done!

Are you interested in seeing Michelle back on TV? Let me know in the comments!

Allison Mack talks Smallville exit

As most of you may know by now, Allison Mack is no longer a series regular on the final season of "Smallville". However, we haven't seen the last of Chloe Sullivan, as she will reprise the role that made her famous for five episodes this season to wrap up her character's story arc. M

Mack has explained the weirdness of this new situation with the show: It's an interesting transition. It feels very strange to not have this [show] be a part of my life every day. I feel very honoured that people seem to be missing me and I feel excited and thrilled about the next chapter of my life."

Always a fan favourite, Mack states that she has had some input regarding her character's outcome on the show: I've had a few... opinions that I've thrown in there," she said. "[Showrunners] Kelly [Souders] and Brian [Peterson] are incredibly collaborative and we have a beautiful writing staff so I leave it to them most of the time."

As far as her future goes, the actress wants to explore her options and doesn't rule out a return to television as long as the the projects presented to her are good. "I want to go where the good parts are, so the medium is not as specific for me as just making sure that I'm continuing to play good parts," she explained.

Allison was one of the best actresses "Smallville" had so, in my opinion, it is better that her departure took place in the final season cause the show won't be the same without her. Sad to see her leave? Hit the comments below!

Another electrifying performance by Bruno Mars!

I said it before and I'll say it again: Bruno Mars is definitely the best new artist of the year! He could sing the alphabet and still make it a memorable performance! Two Buffy alums guest star on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice"

Do you miss "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"? I sure do! For those Buffy fans out there, you are about to reunite with two of the former members of the scooby gang on your tv screens! Both Amber Benson and Nicholas Brendon are about to make an appearance on two shows created by Shonda Rhimes.

Amber Benson has reportedly signed up to appear on the seventh episode of the current season of "Grey's Anatomy". She will be playing the estranged daughter of one of Cristina's patients. Benson isn't new to the Grey's universe, as she previously appeared on an episode of "Private Practice" as well, playing a different character.

Nicholas Brendon, on the other hand, is making a guest appearance on Grey's spin-off, "Private Practice", with a far more juicy character. He will appear on a three-episode guest-starring arc, playing a mentally unstable character who ends up being a rapist! Wow, talk about a departure for Brendon since his Xander days on "Buffy" ! This role will surely give him good material to showcase his acting skills.

Glee does GQ... and it's sexy!

Who knew these kids could get so PG! After all, they are so young and... naive? Not so much according to the new issue of GQ magazine, where the "Glee" cast shows a much more adult side of their personalities.

In the inside interview, Cory Monteith talks about the "no trailer sex rule" imposed by creator Ryan Murphy stating he agrees with it because "There's a beautiful chemistry to this show, and messing with that would be dangerous." Cory explains: "It's the high school experience I always wanted. I remember I'd come home from fifth, sixth grade, and I'd watch 'Saved by the Bell' and be like, 'I hope my high school experience is like that.' And it totally wasn't. It sucked."

Apparently, actress Dianna Agron was not very comfortable being shot with sensual clothing: "When it was just Lea and me, I was like 'We're in skimpy clothes, we're up against each other. This is feeding those rumors,'" she says. "I've never been shot in so little clothing."

Lea Michele, on the other hand, seemed far more comfortable with the sexy attitude for the photoshoot. She confirms how close she is with the rest of the cast, specially fellow actor Chris Colfer: "If anything's going on in our lives, we have each other. One time, I was having a bad day, and I called Chris Colfer. He came over with a pint of ice cream and 'Madea Goes to Jail,' and it was, like, the best night of my life."

What do you think of this brand new sexyfied image portrayed by the cast of "Glee"? Does it seem fitting for a family show? Sound off in the comments below!

In other "Scream 4" related news, director Wes Craven recently revealed that he was shocked to learn that couple Courteney Cox and David Arquette were separating after 11 years of marriage. "We didn't have any idea that was going on" he said to E! online. "It's very sad. I just about cried when I heard. It's a wrenching thing to happen to anybody that you love. I wish them both the best."

It is truly sad that it has come to end this way for them, but lets hope they can get past this.
Are you impatient to see what "Scream 4" has in store for us?

Taylor Swift premieres "Mean"

Taylor Swift has premiered another promo single from her upcoming album, "Speak Now". The track is called "Mean" and I have to say, I'm not really feeling this one. I believe it has too much of a "country" sound, although I'm loving the cover art!

Heather Locklear attends fashion show with daughter Ava

Believe it or not, it's been 13 years since Heather Locklear gave birth to her only daughter, Ava Sambora, who has now grown into a beautiful teenage model. She looked as beautiful and classy as her famous mom when they recently attended the WTB Spring 2011 Fashion Show together.

Her father, Richie Sambora, was also there and his relationship with Locklear remains amicable as they both even posed together for pictures. Just recently, Locklear denied reports that she had inmediate plans to marry her boyfriend, actor Jack Wagner (her former on-screen husband on "Melrose Place").

I'm glad to see Heather is doing great and looking gorgeous, and to see her daughter turning into a mini version of her is delightful. Lets hope she makes a comeback to television soon, her talent could be of use to many shows out there.

Stan Lee approves new tv show based on "The Hulk"

ABC recently announced that a new tv show based on the comic book, "The Incredible Hulk", was in the works. The potential television adaptation will be the first one since the popular one starring Lou Ferrigno from 1978 to 1982.

"Hulk" creator, Stan Lee, has expressed his approval of the project, as he told The New York Daily News that he thinks "the potential for a successful Hulk TV show is greater now than ever." Lee explains: "For one thing, think of the sensational special effects available to us now, plus the fact that ol' green skin is known and loved worldwide."

Taking into account the fact that two different actors have already played Bruce Banner (with a third in the works in "The Avengers" movie), maybe it is a good idea after all to have someone give stability to this character on a week to week basis. A TV show can certainly provide that, and the story has been already successful once, back in the day, so I'm thinking... why not?

Sigourney Weaver talks Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel

Sigourney Weaver has recently commented on the upcoming Alien prequel ,which is being helmed by Ridley Scott (who directed the first "Alien" movie), stating that she completely trusts Scott for the job. Even though she's not involved with the project, the actress who starred as Ripley in the popular franchise, revealed to Shock Til You Drop that she is hoping to be able to give her input on the story: "If they needed help with the story, I could probably help them because I probably have a good sense of what people appreciate in the series and what they don't care about. So I hope they'll ask me."

As far the female lead for the film, Weaver believes "she should be very different from Ripley. I think it's a trick thing because you want to get a good, young actress in there." The actress said: "But I would trust Ridley. He found me! It's an important decision. But, as with all of these Alien films, it's an ensemble film. It's very important who you pick for all the parts."

When she looks back on the "Alien" franchise, Weaver finds it hard to pick a favourite, stating that "each one had, at the helm, such an original visionary. Ridley transformed the idea of space from this sterile, cerebral place to a place where people actually got up and had breakfast and swore and griped and carried on like regular people. Then Jim [Cameron] took it to a whole other scale of story and emotional resonance."

I believe that finding a replacement for Sigourney is going to be really hard for Ridley Scott. She should definitely be a strong, charismatic, empowered character that the audience can identify with. Ripley was the heroine in the story, and one of the reasons the Alien movies were so good and entertaining in the first place.

The Alien prequel is scheduled to be released in 2011. Are you excited for this movie?

Gossip Girl co- stars not friends with each other

Spotted! Apparently not all is good on the set of "Gossip Girl". Penn Badgley has recently admitted to The New York Post that he and his girlfriend, Blake Lively, are "not friends" with Gossip Girl co-stars Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr.

Even though they have known each other for four years now, Badgley states that they do not share quality time off camera. When asked recently about his opinion on the news that co-stars Westwick and Szohr are back together as a couple, he simply stated: "Good for them," but added " "We're not friends. I mean, we just don't double date."

Badgley also appears to be "tired" with his work on the show lately. "It is what it is," he said. "It's the fourth season. It's become routine."

Do you think Badgley is hinting he wants out and his days on the show are numbered? Sound off in the comments!

Morena Baccarin may appear in "The Avengers"

As most of you may know by now, Joss Whedon will be helming "The Avengers", a movie adaptation of the Marvel comic book with the same name. The latest rumour is that actress Morena Baccarin ("V") could have been asked to star in the movie as the character of Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp.

Recently at New York Comic-Con, Baccarin refused to confirm or deny the rumour that Whedon had an interest in her for the part. "I wish I had more information for you," Baccarin explained. "All I will say is I will never turn down an opportunity to work with him."

If you recall, the actress worked previously with the director on the tv show "Firefly", as well as the follow-up movie "Serenity". Whedon has a tendency to work with the same actors over and over again, so the rumour could certainly become a reality.

Morena has undeniable talent as we have seen on her TV show, "V", and I believe that a part on "The Avengers" movie could do a lot for her movie career, as she would avoid being typecast into playing evil characters. The Wasp could showcase her ability to portray a good and noble character as well, and I´m sure that Whedon would make the story original and believable.

Would you like to see Morena Baccarin as a superhero in this movie? Sound off in the comments!

Tune of the week: Joshua Radin - You got what i need

This week I decided to choose a different kind of song, one breathtaking and soft acoustic piece of melody... almost whispered words of love. "You got what I need" is taken from Joshua Radin's latest album, "The Rock and the Tide". The album is pretty average and nothing special compared to some of his earlier work, but this song had me from the very beginning. Listen to it below!

Click on the video above to watch Shayne Ward working on a new photoshoot for his new album, "Obsession". Not only can you watch Shayne in all his hotness but you can also listen to a new clip of his title track, "Obsession".

Are you looking forward to new music from Shayne?

Rihanna's second single, "What's my name", leaks!

As you can see in the pictures above, just recently, Rihanna was shooting the video in the street of New York  for her second single of her forthcoming album, "Loud". "What's my name" featuring Drake has now leaked and it sounds great, but not amazing. Maybe it will grow on me with a few more listens. Listen to the song below! Thoughts?

Album Review: Jenny Berggren - My Story

Having been highly dissapointed by the new Ace of Base album, I was really anticipating the release of Jenny Berggren's first solo effort. For this project, Jenny surrounded herself with new producers and collaborators such as Terese Fredenwall, Simon Petrén and the Sthlm Sound Facility, in order to distance herself from the band and find her own new sound.

It is essential to tap into this album keeping in mind that this is not a new Ace of Base release. It is indeed an electro-pop dance album, and yes, there are some catchy melodies but the similarities really end there. Where Ace of Base had reggae infused pop catchy tunes, here we are presented with a mature modern and sometimes obscure dance record with classical influences and some heavy dark lyrics at times.

"My Story" starts with  a very dramatic intro that leads us into "Free me", a funky electronic track that sets the mood of the new sound we encounter. It is safe to say that the best section of the record is the first half, with songs such as "Living in a Circus", an upbeat track with a chorus that stays with you after a few listens, or "Dying to Stay Alive", the strongest tune overall with the permission of the first two singles, "Here I am" and the most recent one, "Gotta Go".

The rest of the record is quite acceptable with songs like "Air of Love" standing out, even though there is an overall feeling of lack of structure and even lack of soul. The production team should have definitely provided Berggren with stronger beats, as sometimes the sound seems unfinished and the marriage formed by lyrics & instrumentation do not seem to go hand in hand.

Overall, this is a quite decent debut for the former Ace of Base vocalist, and will probably attract new fans as well as old A.O.B. ones, who will surely connect much better with this record than with the band's most recent release, "The Golden Ratio".

Click below to listen to my favourite track of the album, a dance beat called "Dying to Stay Alive", and probably the most similar to the old Ace of Base sound.
