New ‘Wonder Woman’ Images

Fans of the original Wonder Woman may rest calmly as two new pictures from the shooting of the pilot have emerged (courtesy of SFX) showing actress Adrianne Palicky and, what looks like her body double, wearing a more appropiately improved costume for the Amazonian hero.

After the first official image of Palicki´s costume emerged, many fans complained about how silly and unrealistic it looked like, which is something that apparently the studio has taken into account if we pay close attention to the changes shown in the new images released. New "Teen Wolf" Promo

Check out the new trailer for MTV´s new show, Teen Wolf, a reboot of the classic Michael J. Fox film from the 80´s.

Exec producer Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds) described the show to EW as edgier and similar in style to other cult hit shows of the past:

“When I first talked to MTV about it, I said what if we do it kind of like The Lost Boys with kind of the pace and fun of Buffy. We’ve had comparisons to Vampire Diaires. That’s a very brooding melodrama. This exists far closer to Buffy.”

By the looks of the promos that have aired, the show looks very promising and better than what we had personally expected.

Rob Lowe Takes A Look Back on Vanity Fair

Distracted by the picture? You should! Rob Lowe strips off his clothes and his soul for the May issue of Vanity Fair.

The 47-year old actor, who is planning to release an autobiography called Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography, shares his thoughts on fame, success and even some of his former co-stars including troubled actor Charlie Sheen.

Here are some excerpts of his forthcoming book:

On Patrick Swayze:

“As cool as you want, wearing tight jeans and a tattered, sleeveless Harley-Davidson T-shirt revealing his massive, ripped arms. (This is his uniform, he never changes it, and if I looked like him, neither would I.),”

On Charlie Sheen:

“At my house we are still saving money by not buying desserts. At Charlie’s house, it’s never-ending Häagen-Dazs, brand-new BMWs, a lagoon pool with underwater tunnels, and a lit, professional-grade basketball half-court.”

On Tom Cruise:

“He’s open, friendly, funny, and has an almost robotic, bloodless focus and an intensity that I’ve never encountered before.”

Will you be reading Rob Lowe´s book?

MGM Plans 'Child's Play' Remake

Remember Chucky, the diabolical doll? It seems that not even him can escape Hollywood´s trend of remaking movies these days.

According to Movie Web, a remake for the film was announced years ago but had to be put to rest due to a rights issue.

However, the project has ressurected by MGM and the new version of the horror film is expected to be released on December 2011.

Filming is expected to begin later this year based on a script written by original Child´s Play writer Don Mancini, who wrote all of the following original sequels as well.

Actor Brad Dourif is also set to return to voice the Chucky doll.

Even though here at Radio Pop Action! we are usually not too keen on reboots or remakes, we believe that with both the original writers and Dourif involved, this might be a good horror movie if it resembles the original film rather than the terrible sequels it spawned later on.

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Not Ready For Music Yet

Gwyneth Paltrow has dismissed recent rumours that suggested she had signed a record deal with Atlantic Records to release an album.

The actress told The Hollywood Reporter:

"The truth is, I really would love to make a record, but I don't know exactly how you do that so it's not cheesy. I would love to do it. I am having fun with it though, even if it's kind of giving me a mid-life crisis because I don't know who I am anymore."

Paltrow has tapped into her musical side recently receiving high praise for her movie Country Strong and her guest appearances on Glee.

Moreover, it has been confirmed that she will record a duet with Glee´s Matthew Morrison for his upcoming debut album.

It is expected for Paltrow to return to Glee in the future, which is something she looks forward to:

"I'm definitely done for this year but, to be honest, I think it's the best job I've ever had. I'm sure I'll go back there at some point."

Amy Adams Is The New Lois Lane

Superman has found his Lois Lane. Warner Bros has confirmed Amy Adams has joined the cast of the new Superman reboot as the superhero´s romantic interest.

Director Zack Snyder could not be happier with his choice: "Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful," he said in a statement.

Superman will begin shooting in August with a cast that includes Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and  Henry Cavill as the title character. It is expected for the movie to be released in December 2012.

Personally, we believe casting Adams as Lois Lane is an excellent choice as she has proven to have both dramatic and comedic abilities in previous roles in films such as Enchanted or The Fighter.

Marvel Claims 'Avengers' Movie Will Be Amazing

Marvel Comics chief creative, Joe Quesada, recently spoke to Newsarama and described Joss Whedon´s upcoming Avengers movie as a project to look forward to.

Quesada said: "I've read the screenplay and it's amazing. It's going to be the quintessential superhero movie."

The Marvel creative had also kind words for two other upcoming film adaptations of well known comic book superheroes, Captain America and Thor.

"I just saw the first director's cut of Captain America about a week and a half ago and there is a very visual and visceral difference to the way the two movies are shot. There's a richness to both, but very different tonally,"  he explained.

"Captain America starts out as a period piece, whereas Thor starts out as a very fantastical piece, although both are grounded very much in the real world."

Joss Whedon´s Avengers started shooting last month for an expected May 2012 release while Captain America and Thor are due for release later this year.

Elizabeth Taylor Passes Away

Today is a very sad day as Hollywood has lost one of its last acting legends. The lady with the violet eyes, Elizabeth Taylor, died today at Cedars-Sinai hospital  in L.A. of congestive heart failure at age 79.

According to a statement released by her publicist, Taylor passed away surrounded by her four children.

In a statement released by ABC News, her son Michael said:

"My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."

Taylor began her career at the age of 9 and continued her rose to fame into adulthood, winning two Oscars for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Butterfield 8.

Here at Radio Pop Action! we would love to send our condolences to her family and loved ones. Elizabeth was not only the ultimate Hollywood star, but an extraordinary human being who will be deeply missed.

Chris Brown Storms Off After Controversial GMA Interview

Chris Brown is once again the center of attention and unfortunately its not all about his new music.

The RnB artist who appeared on Good Morning America was asked by Robin Roberts about his 2009 assault to ex-girlfriend Rihanna and did not take it lightly.

In fact, according to THR, the artist trashed his dressing room and broke a window following his performance on the show.

According to ABC, security was called because of the loud noises coming from the singer´s dressing room. By the time they arrived and discovered the broken window, Brown and his people had already left.

Later on, the singer took the time to share his thoughts about the incident on Twitter: "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bulls**t."

First Look: NBC´s Wonder Woman

The first official image of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman in the pilot NBC is producing has been unveiled.

According to the first version of David E. Kelley´s script that was leaked on the Internet, there will be more than one costume for the hero as she will portray not two but three different identities (so we´re guessing this might not be the definite modern version but one that resembles the classic old fashioned one).

Darren Aronofsky Drops Out From Wolverine Sequel

According to EW, Darren Aronofsky has opted to leave the director´s chair for the new Wolverine sequel. The Black Swan director stated that the project would keep him out of the country for too long, a commitment he was not willing to go through.

In a joint statement with Fox the director said:

"As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of The Wolverine would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again."

In spite of Aronofsky´s decision, Fox and Hugh Jackman remain attached to the project and hopeful that it will see the light of day.

Fox stated: “While we are of course disappointed that Darren can’t do The Wolverine, we also understand and respect his reasons.  Having done both The Wrestler and Black Swan with Darren, we know he is an extraordinary talent and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the future. Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making The Wolverine.  We will regroup and move forward aggressively.”

Such a shame! Darren´s unique vision and style would have definitely been an upgrade for this sequel.

Glee Recap: Original Song

Regionals is finally upon us and we all know what this means: a Glee episode filled with so many events we may not have time to comment upon all of them... but I promise to try!

As always, if you haven´t watched this week´s episode I strongly advise you to stop reading. Those who have, feel free to enter the competition...

This week´s installment was not as good as last year´s regionals episode, still it was something worth watching as some major events took place.

The kids from New Directions all attempted to write original songs, some with amazing results (Mercedes and her "Hell To The No") and others with crazy funny ones (Santana´s "Trouty Mouth"). I for one believed it was both good fun and served the story well to show us some failed attempts. Hey, songwriting is not for everyone kids...

Blaine and Kurt finally kissed! It was one of the most anticipated moments of the season, and it did not dissapoint. The expression of Blaine´s face when he realized his feelings for Kurt while he was singing Blackbird was priceless.

Quinn is still a bitch... or maybe she isn´t? At least we got a piece of her mind for a change and we were given a motive behind her backstabbing ways. The girl wants to be a prom queen and  be on top of the school again. Also, she is doing Rachel a favour by stealing Finn from her because Miss Berry is meant for greater things in her life. Isn´t she the best friend in the world?

We may temporarily forgive Quinn for inspiring Rachel to write her original song and winning regionals (and probably Finn as well). She definitely found a way to get it right.

So, to sum things up:

The Best: Kurt and Blaine´s first kiss. Rachel confronting Quinn and finding out the truth. Santana feels rejected by Brittany.

The Worst: Quinn.

Quote To Remember: "I´ve been looking for you forever" - Blaine

Best Musical Number: Loser Like Me by New Directions.

The Moment: Blaine realizes his true feelings for Kurt while singing harmony to Blackbird.

What did you think about the episode? Was it a winner or a loser?

Album Review: Femme Fatale - Britney Spears

It´s official, Miss Britney Spears has returned to full form. With Femme Fatale the pop princess has delivered a dark, risky, club record in the line of her masterpiece album, Blackout.

Britney knows pop dance music is what she does best and this may be the main reason why the album features no ballads. Instead, we are presented with a collection of strong uptempo tracks with a defined and established sound.

There are many potential club bangers in Femme Fatale as well as singles from where to choose from. However, there are still some pleasant unexpected surprises such as the mid-tempo closing track, Criminal,  which features a more prominent pop sound complete with guitar and flute.

Here is a track by track overview of the album:

Till The World Ends: The second single features crazy beats and an infectious chorus. A sure hit. 8/10

Hold It Against Me: A good choice for a first single. The dubstep breakdown is one of the highlights of the album. 8.5/10

Inside Out:  Britney showcases her capacity to deliver edgy tracks even if they are not uptempo. 8/10

I Wanna Go: This song demonstrates why Max Martin and Britney are a match made in heaven. 9/10

How I Roll: One of the few dissapointments on the album. The track sounds promising production wise but it never really delivers. 3/10

Drop Dead Beautiful: Not a bad song but can the chorus can sound too repetitive at times. The final section of the song is definitely something else. 6/10

Seal It With A Kiss: Not the most innovative or shocking sound on the album. Pretty pale in comparison with the rest of the songs. 3/10

Big Fat Bass: The song goes from annoying to acceptable by the end. It grows on you. 6/10

Trouble For Me: Would have loved to listen to Britney´s voice without the autotune treatment in this track. Otherwise a forgettable one. 2/10

Trip To Your Heart:  Loved the melodic atmosphere on the chorus. Sounds like a ballad with a dance beat. 8/10

Gasoline: The last uptempo song on the record. Enjoyable but not brilliant. 6/10

Criminal: The real gem behind this album. Britney sounds great vocally showing she still has what it takes to deliver a meaningful mid-tempo pop song. 9.5/10

Glee Recap: Sexy

In this week´s episode, Glee was determined to show the real meaning behind the word "Sexy" and boy, were they successful.

After a couple of somehow slow episodes, this week the storylines finally developed into a journey of unleashed emotions and feelings that the characters expressed through the music. Plus, Gwyneth Paltrow is back as Holly Holiday which is always a good thing!

If you haven´t watched this week´s episode we strongly advise you to stop reading! If you have, then turn your ventilators on, cause the temperature is about to rise up...

Lets go right to the chase. The kids from New Directions are struggling with sex issues and their lack of information on the subject. Holly Holiday offers to help once more, this time by using the Glee club songs as a way to teach them about the consequences that come with having sexual relationships.

First things first, Gwyneth Paltrow has proven what a good asset to the show she is. Her character is fresh, dynamic and keeps the story interesting by shaking things up. Her interaction with the kids and her new found chemistry with Will brought some amazing (and highlarious) moments to the episode.

Nothing like a substitute teacher to have an epiphany. Emma finally accepted the fact that she still has feelings for Will and this may be the reason she hasn´t done the dirty with her sexy husband. We predict some major trouble ahead.

Santana´s and Brittany´s relationship was finally adressed in a non-superficial way, giving a much needed depth to both characters. We even got to feel some appreciation for Naya Rivera´s character for the very first time. Please Ryan Murphy, keep those scenes coming...

Blaine and Kurt´s relationship continues to develop as they touched upon the issue of sexual awareness in gay kids. What a lovely and realistic way to portray such a delicate situation that young gays go through regarding their sexuality and family. Plus, this also paved the way for another great scene between Kurt (Chris Colfer) and his dad (Mike O´Malley) and you know how much we love those two together.

 So, to sum things up:

The Best: Gwyneth Paltrow. Santana and Brittany being honest with the true nature of their relationship. Gwyneth Paltrow. Kurt and his dad have the talk. Gwyneth Paltrow. Holly and Will finally hooking up. Oh and did we mention how awesome Gwyneth Paltrow is?

The Worst: Quinn is quickly becoming the most annoying character on the show. Her quest to becoming the leader of the school is seriously lame and non-realistic. Plus, her romance with Finn is unnecessary and predictable.

Quote To Remember: "Don´t throw yourself around like you don´t matter" - Burt

Best Musical Number: Kiss by Will and Holly

The Moment: Santana opens up to Britanny in the school hallway about her real feelings soon after they perform the wonderful Stevie Nicks classic, Landslide.

What was your take on this week´s episode? Strip it down in the comments below!

Charlie Sheen Gets Fired From "Two and a Half Men"

It was bound to happen sooner or later. After months of scandals and a very difficult relationship, CBS and Charlie Sheen have officially parted ways.

Both CBS and Warner Bros Television have fired the controversial actor from the sitcom Two and a Half Men as expressed in the official statement released earlier today:

“After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately.”

It is still uncertain if the show will get cancelled or if Sheen will be replaced by a new actor at this point. Sheen on the other hand, was very honest when expressing his thoughts about the network´s decision when speaking to TMZ:

“This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”

Do you believe Sheen had it coming? Should Two and a Half Men get cancelled?

Colin Firth To Play A Vampire In Next Film?

Colin Firth is already planning his next project after winning his first Oscar for The King´s Speech.

According to the News of the World the actor is willing to try something completely different and has signed to play a vampire in in horror film Stoker, a movie based on Bram Stoker´s Dracula.

The film will also feature Mia Wasikowska (Alice In Wonderland) as India Stoker, with a script written by Wentworth Miller (Prison Break).

Firth is set to play India´s vampire uncle who presumably kills his victims in a very sadistic way.

Sources describe the role as "miles away from the comedies he's famous for. It's dark, modern and creepy. He's going out on a limb with this part."

The cast could also include Nicole Kidman as she is rumoured to be in talks for the part of India´s mum.

Sounds interesting and we know Firth has the talent to make it believable.

"Scream 4" Cast Poster Is Released

Many fans of the Scream franchise were wondering why a poster featuring the cast has not been released, just like it happened with the three previous films.

It seems that the main reason behind this is that the marketing campaign in the US is apparently focusing in direct and simple concepts for the new movie.

However, it is not unusual for European countries to completely change the concept of their promotion for movie posters, which is exactly what has happened with Scream 4 in Spain.

What do you think of the movie poster pictured above? Should the US try a similar approach?

"True Blood" Season 4 First Look

A lot of new info has been released regarding the fourth season of True Blood at the 28th Annual William S. Paley Television Festival in Beverly Hills.

So far, creator Alan Ball has teased that this year will be mostly known as the "witch season", but what we did not know it that the most intriguing storyline affects one of the most beloved characters of the show: vampire Eric Northman.

*Spoiler Alert*

It looks like Viking vampire Eric is about to suffer a big case of amnesia, causing him to forget who he was and all of the horrible things he has done in the past. For fans of the Sookie Stackhouse books this storyline will come as no surprise as Ball has apparently left it almost intact in its adaptation.

Actor Alexander Skarsgård explained to the fans what´s in store for his character:

"He messed with the wrong people,"—and because he loses that crucial matchup, he also loses his memory and therefore his entire personality.

This powerful character is just gone—it's not what we've built up over the past three years; it is just gone. And it's a lot of fun for me because it's the polar opposite of who Eric really is…He is lost. He doesn't know how he is, he knows he's a vampire, but he slowly finds out stuff, like, 'Did I do that? I killed those people? Why would I do that? Oh. Really?' It's not easy to hear—and not knowing who he can trust, who's a friend or an enemy. He's very vulnerable."
