Concert Review: Up, Close & Personal Tour - Janet Jackson

On July 12th, Janet Jackson returned to Spain for the first time in years to prove once again that she still got the moves that made her an icon.

We were promised with this new tour something different and more intimate, a comunion between Miss Jackson and her fans... and that is exactly what she delivered.

Janet performed with a group of dancers, three back up singers and a five piece band while the audience took a roller coaster ride through a music career that has spawned hits over three different decades.

The youngest member of the Jackson family proved at 44 that she can give her younger contemporaries a run for their money and still look amazing.

Janet also took a moment to honour her late brother, Michael Jackson, when she performed Scream on stage while Michael did his part on the screen behind her. Another touching moment for the fans was when pictures of the two siblings appeared on screen while she sang her hit song Together Again.

The singer thanked the crowd for waiting in the rain and acknowledged all of the support shown throughout the years, not only to herself but to the Jackson family as well. This was the last stop of Jackson´s European leg of her tour and she stated how happy she was that it ended in Barcelona.

All in all, it was a brilliant concert where Janet Jackson reconnected with her Spanish fans and reminded us why she is more than just Michael´s little sister.
