New Wonder Woman tv series on the works!

A new tv show based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman is being developed. According to Newsrama, David E. Kelley (creator of "Boston Legal" and "Ally McBeal") is helming the project which will mainly focus on the characters "golden years".

This will be the first time since the 70's tv show, that the character will have its own series. However, it is probable that the appearance of the heroine will be drastically different from that one, since it has undergone a number of aesthetic changes over the past year in the comic-book, in order to facilitate the transition to a motion picture or tv show.

No official announcement has been made yet, but the project will be shopped around to a number of tv networks soon.

I think this could be a great show if they have someone like David E. Kelley behind it. He did a great job with a female lead on a series with Calista Flockhart on "Ally Mcbeal" and he could repeat that magic again. The important factor here is, who will play Wonder Woman? It would have to be an actress with comedic abilities and a sexy attitude. My dream casting would be Charisma Carpenter! She's amazingly talented, has lots of experience with tv shows that deal with superpowers ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Angel", "Charmed"), can be incredibly funny or dramatic and clearly looks the part.

Who would you pick? Cast in the comments below!

  1. Good news, I'm glad they are thinking about this. If they ever make a movie I thought Sandra Bulluck would suit this role. As for TV, I used to think Courtney Cox but shes aging a little now so I think Smallvilles Louis Lane...Erica Durance would be excellent, she can be tough, certainly good looking, and a believable pick for the role

  2. Courteney Cox would have certainly been a good choice back in the day, it is a shame that this project has been taking so long to materialize. I love Erica's work on "Smallville" and she certainly kicks ass as Lois Lane so I could see that happening too. I guess it all depends on how old would Wonder Woman be in this new show.
